AN: Thanks for choosing to read. This story is sort of an experiment that I thought of a while back. All of the characters are based off of people I know in real life, but set in the universe of Kingdom Hearts. So please, read and review. If I get some positive feedback, I'll update with chapter 2. I look forward to the reviews.
I don't own Kingdom Hearts, but I do own the characters. And I make no money from this.

It was a quiet day. The air was lightly blowing, gently caressing the faces of people as they went about their business, and the sun shone brightly through a layer of white billowy clouds, creating the perfect sense of shade. Birds sang in the air, while the grass danced to the tune of the wind. It was a perfect, quiet day.

A boy and a girl sat on the sidewalk, the girl's knees drawn to her chest while the boy's legs were sprawled out in front of him The girl gave a contented sigh and laid her head on the boy's shoulder. After a few moments of silence, the girl spoke.

"Why can't it always be like this?" she asked, her voice just loud enough so only he could hear. He smiled and kissed the top of her head.

"Because college likes to see best friends torn apart. Duh." The girl laughed and playfully shoved the boy. She reached up and pinched the boy's check.

"I'll just find a new best friend, how would you feel about that?" The boy playfully swatted her hand away, and turned his head so that he could see her face. His dark green eyes met her true blue eyes.
"You wouldn't dare." Said the boy, using a tone of mock fear. The girl noticed this, and blew a mouthful of air into the boy's face. He recoiled, pulling away from her. The girl seized this chance to stand up and ruffle the boy's light brown hair, messing it up.

"You're so rude. Tina." He said, standing up next to her. She patted the front of her knee length summer dress to make sure no dirt was on it. She tucked a loose strand of yellow hair behind her ear and smiled. The boy returned her smile, knowing that whatever happened, their bond would never break. They stood still for a few seconds, watching the children play in the street.

"Hey Stanton, weren't you supposed to pick Annie up from school?" asked Tina, nudging the boy. Stanton's mouth fell open in shock.

"Holy shit, you're right! She's gonna be so mad if she misses our party! The one time where we actually let her come!" he began to rummage around in his pockets in search of his car keys. Tina covered her mouth with her hand, hiding her chuckle.

"You're so cute when you're bewildered." She said, reaching into Stanton's back pocket to pull out his keys. He let out a dramatic sigh and took them from her.

"And you're just cute." He said with a devilish grin. "And aren't juniors in high school supposed to have cars? My parents are seriously slacking."

"And you would think that your parents would spoil your little sister more, huh?" she asked, pushing Stanton in the direction of his truck. He spun sharply to his right, causing Tina to stumble forward without Stanton's weight to hold her back. Stanton took off running towards his truck before Tina could punch him. As he drove off, Tina cupped her hands to her mouth.

"You better hurry back, the party starts at eight! And don't forget to bring drinks this time! DON'T FORGET THE DRINKS, STANTON!" she yelled as he waved lazily in the mirror. Tina sighed as she watched the truck containing her best friend sped off, cutting the right turn out of their neighborhood dangerously sharp. She waved to one of the children playing in the street, then turned around and began the short walk back to her house. She stopped, her gaze turning to the distant sky. On the horizon loomed several large thunderheads, lightning flashing through them. Tina sighed, hoping that if it did rain, it wouldn't ruin the end of the year party.
