The boys' were starting to get worried. The only girl in the gang, Kate, hasn't been around in a week and it was coming close to two. It just didn't make any sense. They were her only friends in Tulsa so it wasn't like she ditched them for another group. Besides, she hasn't been in school either.
Sodapop sat down next to Two-Bit on the couch, with a worried look on his face. Kate and Soda have been dating for almost two years now, the two were inseparable.
"Come on man, there's gotta be good reason she ain't around. Maybe her father has her at his house," Two-Bit said. Kate would occasionally make a week visit to her dad in the summer but her school work meant to much to her, for the girl to just skip out like this.
"I don't know Two; she wouldn't just leave without tellin' us!" Soda spat.
"…..without telling me."
Soda sat there thinking about where his kitten could be while Two-Bit and the rest of the gang, minus Dally and Kate, watched Mickey Mouse.
About an hour into the show, Dallas Winston rushed into the Curtis' house soaking from the storm outside.
"Hey Dal, you're a bit wet aren't cha'?" Steve said, chuckling into his beer. Dally looked himself over as if he had no idea he had been wet.
"Yeah, yeah whatever man," he said while picking Pony up by the back of his collar and plopped him on the ground so he could sit. Pony groaned but accepted his new position.
" I just seen the weirdest thing," Dally said. Once he drew everyone's attention, he continued with his story.
