Disclaimer: I don't own Digimon, the concept, or its characters. They belong to Bandai, Toei Animation, Saban... maybe others as well. I'm merely using them for my own personal enjoyment. Please don't sue
Notes: There's a bit at the end that randomly comes from my mind, because I really have no idea about the actual day.
This takes place sometime after season two.

Gloomy

They spend Sunday mornings eating cereal straight from the box, even though Ken protests that it's rude, and Daisuke merely shrugs, saying they'll probably finish the box anyways and then no one will have to know. (Implied Daiken)

Sunday mornings have always been the highlight of the week for Daisuke and Chibimon. It's the only morning Daisuke doesn't have to be in school, and it's one of the few times Ken and Minomon can come over to hang out.
They spend Sunday mornings eating cereal straight from the box - even though Ken protests that it's rude, and Daisuke merely shrugs, saying they'll probably finish the box anyways and then no one will have to know. Chibimon has no problem with this, as Daisuke usually feeds him out of his hand with a grin. Minomon is skeptical like Ken, but usually ends up stealing a few pieces from Daisuke's hand and munching on them.
But this Sunday is a little gloomier than usual. It's cloudy and dark outside, and Ken and Minomon are running late. Daisuke has already eaten his way through half a box of cereal, and Chibimon wants his usual Sunday playmate because Daisuke isn't talking much.
Ken and Minomon finally arrive, after most of the good cartoons have gone off the air. But Daisuke doesn't mind. He's curled up against Ken, his half-eaten box of cereal long forgotten for once; Chibimon has attached himself to Minomon, who merely sits there contently, and wonders briefly if his Ken-chan is okay.
Because Ken remembered his and Daisuke's deal of watching cartoons on Sunday. But it wasn't until after he remembered that this day, so many years ago, was the last time he had ever seen his brother.
