Many years ago, Earth was under attack from the Space Shogunate Jark Matter. They placed large structures on the planet, known as Consumarz, to drain it of its Planetium. Not a lot of people were strong enough to fight against Jark Matter's soldiers. However, there was someone fighting against the Jark Matter soldiers on Earth: a ninja ranger who went by the name Kuroninja. Jark Matter's soldiers, known as Indavers, tried to defeat Kuroninja, but he sliced all of them down with his katana. Kuroninja's grandson was watching him defeat all of Jark Matter's soldiers, including a Tsuyoindaver, a soldier of Jark Matter that was a little frontier than Indavers. Suddenly, a silver humanoid being appeared from one of the Consumarz and attacked Kuroninja. Kuroninja was very weak against the mysterious attacker, and died while fighting him. However, before he died, he gave his grandson a globe-shaped object known as the Kuroninja Kyutama, telling him that he was the next Kuroninja. Kuroninja's grandson decided to fight against Jark Matter, taking the name of Kuroninja III.
Kuroninja III was looking at his Kuroninja Kyutama, remembering the death of the first Kuroninja. He was now part of the Rebellion, an organization created to fight against Jark Matter. A commander of the Rebellion had assembled a team of rangers to fight against Jark Matter, known as Uchu Sentai Kyuranger. They were originally supposed to have 9 members, but 2 more joined. One of them was the commander himself.
Recently, Kuroninja III was tasked to go to Earth, because during his last mission, someone working for Jark Matter stole the Karasu Kyutama and the Rebellion tracked them to Earth. Kuroninja III decided to go there, but before he left, someone gave him something. It was a Kyutama with the image of a swan on it, which came from the Cygnus Constellation.
As soon as Kuroninja III landed on Earth, he immediately got attacked by Indavers. Kuroninja III knocked out all the Indavers, and pulled out his Kuroninja Kyutama. Then he revealed a Seiza Blaster, except that it was coloured differently. He placed the Kuroninja Kyutama on the Seiza Blaster.
"Kuroninja Kyutama! Say the change!"
"Star change!" Kuroninja III announced, as a dark grey four-pointed star appeared in front of him, instead of a five-pointed one. He then transformed into his Ranger form, as more Jark Matter forces appeared in front of him, ready to fight.
