Chapter 1:
(Name of Trainer Hideyoshi Tsukuda)
It took several seconds, seconds that stretched into an infinity. I remember even though it feel as though I shouldn't. I removed the pain I felt when the Toros rammed into me horns first. I remember it carrying me along, painstakingly shifting me around on its horn as it charged around the ranch. When I finally fell off I managed to grip at the wound while half my...associates? Family? Friends? Whatever they were, they split up half trying to calm down that angry tiros that really wanted to mate. Tough luck for...the guy with blue hair and gray overalls as far as I could see. While that happened, a group of four, maybe five people encircled me, two with pink hair, one in white the other blue; both wearing some kind of summer dress. The rest were forgettable heads of brown and black hair in suspenders.
The first woman with pink hair the one in white, which I now notice has a round belly, yelled something. My ears were still ringing and I couldn't quite pick it up. Then the other one smaller or Umm shorter I guess kneeled down and gripped my shoulder tears pouring down her face, her words were louder than the deafening ring in my ear, and something in my gut told me to listen. Her words were slurred, some accent over that as well. 'Papa!' I still heard it, clear as day. My sight blurred, and everything either grew numb or got real' cold. Then after ten minutes of agony a man in red cane by with seven others and managed to get me into a...a...stretcher! Yeah it was a stretcher. They pulled me into one and led me off into the back of there vehicle when they began cutting away at my shirt to get at the hole in, well part of my chest, part of my side. 'We got several broken ribs, internal bleeding, and a collapsed lung!' I heard one...umm...pa-paramedic list off, I would've been freaked out. I think. If not for the fact that my eyelids weighed more than I did at that point and I just had to close them. For at least a minute.
I shit you not, I didn't even flinch as an astral copy of myself floated above my body before it condensed into a small sphere and rocketed off into the atmosphere. Now when said sphere came to a stop miles above the earth in space before a white version of Dialga...or maybe Palkia I always got the two confused. Whatever it was a white and gold version of the blue one.
"Kobayashi Shouta." It Said, I guess my name. Alright maybe I don't remover as much as I thought but I probably shouldn't even remember this much. "You. Have died." It said nonchalantly.
'Well...no shit.' I tried to reply but no words were spoken.
"Whilst some shall miss you, your time on that branch of fate has ended. Now you will begin anew." He made a motion where his head bended to behind him, and when he pulled back floating just before his snout was a red and black orb with a flick of gold inside.
He 'released' it, kind of, and it floated over and just...melded with my sphere.
"I'd say cross your fingers and hope your the next Pikachu but people seem to take offense to that." It said, and I swear it smirked as a small portal opened up beneath me and sucked me in. There all caught up.

One arm stretch. Nothing.
Push with the leg. Nothing.
Turn my head. Nothing.
After several more...eons? Yeah eons of this I came to a similar result. Nothing.
It's dark. It's damp. It's cramped. And.I. Can' !
And then—IT CRACKED!
Whatever it is, well was now, I'm finally free.
The light floods in and the warm air follows soot.
"Well look at that." A voice spoke. It was soft, yet mature. Well developed. "Looks like your the first of the group to hatch." Did...did he say hatch!
As my eyes finally adjusted to light I realized something. I am very small. And everything else, is very big.
A soft hiss disturbed my thinking and curved glass screen surrounding me opened, and before I had a chance to fumble my way over to the edge and plummet to my doom, and pair of, Well not brown but maybe...light almond colored hands wrapped around me.
"Hi there Litten, my name is Professor Kukui, and I'm very excited to see you." It was a nice time he spoke with, very nurturing and comforting. Until my fur got caught under his ring and I screeched.
"Whoops sorry little guy, don't worry as soon as we get over to my workstation I'll use my foresight to fix you right up." He chuckled while I continue squirming in his grip.
He rounds a corner and we descend further down into the homes basement. At the base of the stairs in a decorated red and white circular rug with a black line going through it outlining a white button in its center. As he stepped onto it it gave me a clear view of the rest of the basement. It was a spacious room, with a large computer with multiple monitors and a couch was in here too. As he whistled a short tune a soft moan could be hear from said couch. A woman with similar skin color as Kukui with white hair sat up. She had a green headband on the back of her head, she has on a tight sleeveless top, with one strap hanging lower on her arm.
"Well, Well was that your attract professor Kukui? Because it was super effective." She says getting up and waltzing over to us. Now that I can see, she has a black jacket with an orange stripe running down each sleeve tied around her waist which has a short aquamarine skirt, and black tights. "Oh but where are my manners-" she says seemingly only now noticing me in the hands of Kukui. "Hey there little guy I am Professor Burnet, and what's your name?"
I open my mouth, and a little squeak sounds, at which she covers her mouth and gives Kukui and me googly eyes.
"For now he's Litten. After Tsukuda-kun gets here he'll pick a name with Litten." Kukui explained as he planted a kiss on the forehead of the girl before proceeding to the other side of the room where another desk sits with varying equipment around it.
"Oh, yeah that Hideyoshi kid right, isn't his dad some big time gym leader?" asked Burnet as she followed behind us. And not until after Kukui sat down and release me into some type of bowl did he reply.
"No that's Norman's son, Tsukuda-kun is Akemi-san's son." He explained hitting a button on a remote which made a whir' sound and the bowl began slowly moving.
"Right, right, her. You think her kids ready for this though? A lot of the islanders will be pretty mad some new kid got to jump to the top of the list to pick their Pokémon like he's related to a Kahuna or something." Was her answer to which Kukui snickered.
"You know what they say about pettiness. I don't know, I got a good feeling about this kid."
"Well I guess I'll leave you to train Lit- WOAHLOOKATHIMGO!" Burnet announces drawing her and Kukui's attention to me.
"Woah is right, his muscles adapted to movement so quickly after hatching." Kukui leaned in to look at the way my legs moved, the way my thin fur shook with each step, the way my chest expanded with each breath, the way the small flame hanging from my neck flared at the fact that this guys staring at me so intently. "Looks like Litten here's a natural learner...whoever gets this little guy is one lucky trainer."
Trying to divide my attention between walking and eavesdropping on Kukui's conversation wasn't gonna work any longer because I'm quickly finding out that while I may know how to walk the muscles for it and the stamina to do for any longer than those four minutes they spent talking haven't developed.

1 MONTH(S) LATER
A soft sing times and Kukui applauses fill the room.
"Good job Litten, your way ahead of schedule. At this rate you'll have all of month three to just relax." He says taking a seat at the desk looking down and into the large bowl to find me shaking off the fatigue of that run, before jumping out of the bowl and onto his head.
"Woah there, someone's full of energy today, or maybe you were just biding your time." He chuckled before removing me from his head and walking me over to the couch. I let out a small meow.
"It's only a matter of time before trainer selectin day gets here, and when it does your going to be partnering up with some lucky guy and going on all kinds of interesting adventures, doesn't that sound exciting!?" He ask looking more enthused than me, at least if that huge grin on his face is anything to go by. As for the the whole partner thing.
"Mwror." I respond with a stretch before getting comfy in the man's lap. Not and easy or comfortable feat.
"Well, you'll see once your out there you'll really get into the spirit of things." He says while rubbing my back. He shifts slightly before sighing.
"Almost a jillion times I've done this, and I'm still not used to it, I'm still not bored of it." He begins, scooping me up in his hands and bringing me to eye level. "I see you guys hatch, I see you train up and grow strong, and every time it's just as hard for me to say goodbye when the time comes." He says sounding unnaturally somber.
"Meow." I throw at him with a soft purr.
"You already know just what to say." He replies before a ringing at his desk phone interrupts the bonding moment. He stares at it for a ring and half before saying.
"I wonder who'd be calling me at this time of day."
As he sets me on a cushion to his left before walking over to the phone. Standing up on the line green cushion stretching my hind legs, and jumping up to the back of the couch before lazily laying back down to watch him from a decent vantage point, too often I'll turn around and spot him spying on me from a distance.
His long legs cut the distance to the phone in no time all, and he quickly sat in front of the screen to look at the screen as it flickered to life.
The screen had a pink hue for a minute before showing a thin boy with blonde hair and a woman with a round face and brown hair.
"Alola Kukui-San!" announces the woman, the boy shrugged before his mom judged him and he gave a repeat of her greeting with minus ten-times the enthusiasm.
"Alola Ake-chan, Alola Hide-Kun. How the move growing?" He asked, to which the two on screen had very distinct reactions. The woman smiled bubbly and began going off a checklist of all the things she's done to prepare whilst the boy gave a halfhearted shrug.
"Hide-kun are you excited to arrive on Alola's beautiful shores? See a new region?" Kukui asked the boy who peeled up slightly at the idea.
"Yeah...but I heard there's no Pokémon league…" said the boy looking disheartened again.
Kukui laughed for a moment. "Don't worry so much about that, one of our Kahuna's is more than a match for any of your elite four." The boy smiled if only for a second.
Alright this is boring, time to nap.

1 MONTH(S) LATER
Activating my scratch attack and cutting away at my practice post before bouncing off of it and hitting it with a triple dose of my ember, before finally ramming the top of my skull against the low to mid center of the post.
"So like I said I share this place with several other Pokémon but besides them it'd be just us, in fact you can take my loft, I have a room in the basement." Kukui explained as the door closed, and the strange smell hit my nostril. It was feminine, it was different from Burnet, if anything it was closer to her after she'd spend a night 'training' with Kukui.
Alright no point in waiting down here right, turning away from the post and running toward the stairs that sat on the opposite side of the basement, darting up the wooden steps, and staring across the living space to see a blonde haired girl in a white dress, with a white duffle at her side with another familiar smell.
"Well look at that, it's our other room mate. Come say hi Litten." He said while waving his hand for me to run over to him. He hasn't led me astray yet right.
Running over and using my agility to get a nice high jump to land on the man's shoulder before letting out a reluctant meow.
"Oh, Umm hello there Litten my name is Lily. It's a pleasure to meet you." She says shyly. Well this girl was going to be just great.
"Alright Lily, right up there is the loft, feel free to anything in the kitchen, there's the bathroom, if you need anything I'll be in the basement with Litten." We were already walking off, leaving this stranger alone upstairs.
"Mewraor." I purred in his ear as we reached the bottom step of the stairs which made him chuckle.
"I'm not too trusting, your just too paranoid is all." He replied still chuckling before spotting my training post.
"OHMYGOSHLITTENDIDYOUDOTHAT!" He exclaimed running over to the training post to examine it.

2 WEEKS LATER
Lily's soft hands brushed against my back, though the price for these back rubs was never cheap as it usually accompanied her going off an a tangent about her mother and why she left home or something, I stopped listening after a while, thought she should be done by now.
"-And then Mother made me and brother dress for her party and even though she promised to stay by our sides as soon as we got there we didn't see her again till the next morning."
"Mwrar." I yawned, before scurrying off ignoring Cosmog or Nebby's as it would happen farewell.
Jumping down from the loft just in time for Kukui to open the door after being gone for well over a week...with two very strange smells.
"Alola Litten, you showed up just in time I wanted to introduce you to Rowlet and Poplio these two are your rivals.
Said two scampered in from behind the man as if on cue only to stop dead in their tracks once I used my intimidate.
"Litten, I know I said rivals but you should still be nice to the pair of them." Kukui explained.
'Yeah, Litten why can't we get along?' Hooted rowlet.
'Your a scary kitty.' Barked Poplio.
'Both of you...are kind of pathetic.' I meowed to which
Kukui stared at the display in slight confusion but he seems to have gotten the gist of our conversation if his sigh is any indication.
'This is gonna be a long two weeks.' I meowed.
'What do you mean?' Rowlet hooted, Poplio just gave me a glare.
'In two weeks the trainers get here and we get handed out to go off on adventures with them.' I meowed the explanation and they promptly began their freak out.

2 WEEKS LATER
I was right, it took forever for these weeks to pass by, my raining continued as normal and while my mid-day cat naps with Kukui where few and far between and Lily seemed more enthused with the ball balancing Poplio.
But whatever, we'd left early that day and were on our way to meet these lucky individuals that were getting first picks on us.
'I'm so nervous…' Rowlet hooted
'Bout' What I'm obviously a shoo in but Litten might scare his trainer off.' Poplio barked.
'Yeah whatever.' I almost snarled, when suddenly I caught sight of a familiar face, a tall, lanky, blonde haired boy with a backwards baseball cap and gray knapsack, wearing a black hoodie, and tattered blue jeans.
'Stupid kid, get away from the grass!' I roared, sprinting over just in time to tackle a Yungoos that was about to use scratch.
The tan rodent got up and used its leer, I basically shrugged it off as I used my intimidate at which it turned tail and ran.
"Gee, thanks little guy, but I could have sworn I heard your trainer around here somewhere." The kid said, Rowlet and Poplio were still catching up, where the hell was Kukui.
'You stupid kid, you could've gotten hurt, your incredibly lucky we or rather I was here now to stop that Yungoos.' I growled at the kid who gave me a mix between an incredulous stare and a pointed look.
"D-did you just talk?" He asked, which...was surprising.
'You can understand me?' I meowed. Kukui understood me but that took time, and Lily sometimes caught a word or two from when I spoke, but this kid already got a full sentence.
'Yo what happened here?' Barked Popplio. The kid starred and scratched his head.
"Okay so why can't I understand her?" He asked looking at me to which I gave him my best shrug.
"Cousin!" Kukui shouted as he ran over the hill. He stared around at us gathering around the kid.
"I see you've already acquainted yourself with your future partner." He explained as the kid looked between us again. "Go ahead pick one." Kukui edged on.
Me, Rowlet, and even Popplio had gone dead quite waiting to hear his pick.
"Umm...I'll take the cat. If I remember anything from the email you sent me he's the fire type, Yeah?" Was he asking!?
'Bully.' I meowed. Rowlet and Popplio snickered
