I don't own Pokemon

"Bonnie, today is the day" Clemont said to his younger sister.

"I'm so excited!" Bonnie said.

After finishing his journey with Ash and Serena, Bonnie wanted to know how mammalian Pokemon raised their young.

So Clemont captured two Pikachu, one male, one female, and put them in a setup where they could mate.

Over the next three months, Clemont and Bonnie watched as the Pikachu got ready to deliver a litter of Pichu.

The two helped set up the area where the Pikachu could raise their young.

Now the day was here that the mother Pikachu would have her babies.

Bonnie and Clemont watched the area where the Pikachu were set up, and the father Pikachu came over to his mate's side as she began birthing her Pichu litter.

Out came five baby Pichu, 3 male and 2 female. The Pichu had no fur, and couldn't see.

"Aw the Pichu are so cute" Bonnie said.

"Notice that the mother is beginning to nurse her babies" Clemont said.

"What does that mean?" Bonnie asked.

"A mammalian Pokemon mother is feeding her milk to her offspring, like the Pikachu is doing with her Pichu" Clemont said.

The Pichu were very hungry it seemed. They really enjoyed being nursed.

The Pichu fell asleep afterward.

"Look at them, so precious" Bonnie said.

"They are newborns after all" Clemont said.

Over the next few weeks the siblings watched as the Pichu grew, with fur growing and their eyes opening, and finally the time came for the little ones to be weaned.

The Pichu were eager for their first solid food, Clemont gave them some berries.

"The Pichu are now ready for solid food. Berries are a good first food." Clemont said.

Bonnie said, "I see."

They really enjoyed helping raise the baby Pichu. They were quite a handful at times though.
