Samon peered around the living quarters that he shared with his Nanba school teacher wife. He quickly turned back to the glitter covered table and his glittered covered son. He stood there in horror, realizing that he essentially gave his son the ability to absolutely cover everything in glitter, and a second too late moved.

"SON OF A...DONKEY!"

"So Samon...where did our son learn the term Son of a Donkey..."

"...At least I didn't swear."

"SAMON."

He took a step away.

"And why is the place covered in glitter?"

"U-um..."

"Cause I made this for you mommy!" Their son said, brandishing a sticky card at his mother.

Mai happily took the card but glared at Samon for not cleaning the glitter up.

After the glitter was cleaned, and Samon got a shower in after bathing his kid, he sighed, flopping down on the bed. He knew that mothers day would be a bit iffy, bt he still had one more thing. He sat up, reaching into the pocket on his pants and pulling out a small box. It was a small piece for her charm bracelet, but none the less it was something. He smiled a bit to himself but heard the noises of Mai finishing her shower and quickly hid it.

He just looked towards the door when Mai came in, dressed and drying her hair.

"Kids were a bit unruly today."

She sat on the bed, still drying her hair and smiling at him.

"They were so excited to make cards for their mothers."

He smiled. She flopped back. Samon laid back with her, hands on his stomach and head turned to her. They talked for a bit, Samon never finding the right time to give her his gift. It wasn't until that Mai decided she was turning in for the night that he finally decided to just get it and give it to her. Sitting up, he looked right at her, blushed and looked away, annoyed at himself. Mai looked at him, confused.

"Something wrong, Samon?"

"N-No!"

Mai blinked, looking at him. It wasn't what was on his mind, it most certainly wasn't how he wanted to do it, but Samon thrust the small box at Mai, blushing.

"...Aw Samon, you're still shy when you give me things." Mai gently took the box, opening it and squealing.

She threw her arms around his shoulders, knocking Samon against the night stand.

"S-Sorry!"

She let him go, watching as he rubbed his head.

"Owwwww."

"Sorry, Samon."

"Love you too Mai..."

She happily put the charm on her bracelet before putting it on her dresser for safe keeping. She went over, made sure he hadn't hit his head too hard before giving him a peck on the cheek.

"Thank you Samon."

"You're welcome Mai, happy mother's day...don't do that again."

She laughed, reaching up to ruffle his hair to get a smile out of him. Samon sighed, looking annoyed and bored.

"You're alright?"

"Yeah yeah...just...that didn't go as I had wanted it to."

"Yeah but the best things in the world usually don't."

"...You got a point there."
