"Thanks for teaching me how to cook, Sir Oscar." said the young falcon knight as she was getting ready to help Oscar make lunch for the mercenaries. Even though it was the thousandth time these words had walked out of Tanith's mouth, Oscar still loved to hear it. Oscar knew if it wasn't Tanith saying it all those times, he would have gotten annoyed. There was something about her that just blew Oscar's mind. He couldn't tell if it was her short, smooth hair, or her eyes that were so icy blue it gave him chills when he stared into them.
"It's nothing really. I love to cook and I enjoy the fact that people can learn from my skills." said the green haired paladin softly. Oscar stood there silently with a worried look on his face. Tanith turned around and noticed the expression on his face.
"Sir Oscar! What's wrong!" Tanith shouted speed-walking towards him. As she walked toward him, she noticed how beautiful he was. His pure green hair was just slightly lifting away from his head in the wind. Tanith never cared about the fact that Oscar's eyes were squinted most of the time. She had always thought of him so gracefully. The way he cooked, they way he fought, and even the way he talked was so graceful.
"Tanith... Do you, never mind. It would be stupid of me to ask. Please forget about it." he said in a soft voice. He could tell in her eyes that she really wanted to know what was wrong. They were basically screaming into his soul to tell her what was wrong. "Tanith", he tried again," Do you think I'm a pansy?" her asked, blushing.
"Of course I don't!" Tanith said without even having to think. "Why would you ask such a silly question!" She was babbled. She asked herself multiple times if he actually just said that.
"It's just that some people think of me as only that, and nothing more. It's because I'm a cook and I always have my eyes closed. I'm glad you don't think of me as one." He said staring into her beautiful eyes. She was just looking flabbergasted now.
"Sir Oscar," Tanith said taking a few steps forward and pressing her body up against his. "I... I think of you much higher than that" She said not noticing that she was pressed against him. She blinked a few times then realizing how close together they were. She quickly backed up. "I'm such a fool! I'm so sorry. I-I lost control of my body and was focusing on my words! Oh, I'm so embarrassed!" she shouted.
Oscar walked over where she was standing. There was about three inches between them" It's quite alright. I don't mind." he said looking at Tanith softly. "Do you know why, Tanith?"
"N-no. I don't." She stuttered, looking up to meet his gentle stare.
"Well Tanith. I don't mind because... I love you" he said in the normal Oscar voice.
Tanith was shocked. It took her mind a few moments to process the three short words that meant so much. She could feel her eyes starting to water. She got on her tip-toes and tilted her head. She moved her face to Oscar's. His kiss was gentle as it met hers. He put his hands around her waist as she put her hands on his shoulders. Tanith didn't need to say anything. He was in love with her. She was in love with him. The wind blew harder as a tear of joy ran down Tanith's face. Everything was perfect.
