"Harry, what is it that you have to see me so urgently? Hedwig wouldn't stop pecking me till I get up to come here."

Harry Potter turned slowly from the Astronomy Tower window to face the youngest Weasley standing behind him.

"Ginny…" He started, but paused, not sure of how he can put this across to her.

"Yes?" Ginny prompted, whatever Harry was going to say to her, it was taking a long time to come out from his mouth.

"I…" Harry took a deep breath and tried again. "I love you, Ginny."

"You… You what?" What she was expecting from Harry was certainly not this. She stood there gaping at him for five seconds before her confused mind caught up with her bewildered heart. The boy she loved for all these years was finally confessing to her. However, she did not understand why Harry had chosen now to confess his love.

"You loved me?" She asked, overwhelmed by her emotions. "I thought we decided not to fall in love. That Voldemort will find out and use me against you. That you will put the whole Weasley clan and me in danger. That you don't want another loved one to die because of you." Nevertheless, as she spoke these words, she felt as though she was on cloud nine; the boy she had pined for all these years had finally returned her feelings. It was not unrequited love anymore.

"I'm going to meet Voldemort for a show-down tomorrow." At these words, Ginny let out a small gasp.

"I told you about the prophecy before, only one of us will live through this, it's either him or me." Ginny walked towards Harry and squeezed his hands, trying to assure him.

"I truly, deeply love you, and if I die tomorrow, I want you to know that I will love you till my very last breathe." Harry's eyes shone with unshed tears as he gazed lovingly into Ginny's eyes.

Ginny brought her hand to his forehead and traced his lightning scar with her finger. "I have faith in you, Harry. You will defeat him tomorrow, I know you will." She whispered strongly into his ears, looking at him straight into the eye to inject her confidence into him.

"Ginny, promise me that no matter what happen to me, you will carry on with life. Be happy and take good care of yourself, please promise me that."

"Harry, I… Nothing will happen to you…" But she was cut short by the pleading look in his eyes. "Yes, I promise you I will carry on with my life, but I can't possibly promise that I will be happy."

"That is good enough." Harry replied, lowering his head while Ginny craned hers upwards. Their lips met in a soft and gentle kiss, one that lingered and deepened, one that said everything they had for each other.

"Harry, I love you too. I always have and always will." Ginny said, as they broke apart.
