Skittery fell in love with a beautiful girl named Anna, got her pregnant, and then she left. Skittery never got to hold his baby girl.
Skittery sat on his top bunk looking at a picture of Anna and thinking about his baby girl.
"Heya Skitts", Topple said.
"Heya Top", Skittery said ruffling the girl's hair.
"Who's dat?" Topple asked.
"Dat was Anna. Me goil. Ise gots her prego and she left me", Skittery told her.
"What was da baby's name?" Topple asked.
"Ise have no idea", Skittery sighed.
"Skitts is really sad", Topple told Jack.
"Skitts said she would've been 5 dis yeah", Mush said.
"Ise hate seein' me newsies sad", Jack said.
Sarah dropped by with a little girl. "Her name's Claire…Skittery", Sarah said, "Anna was dying from something and she told me to give her to Skittery".
"Skittery!" Jack yelled, "Git down heah". Jack set the little girl on the ground as Skittery came down the stairs.
"Skitty!" she yelled running to him.
"Jack…is she?" Skittery asked.
Jack nodded and Skittery picked his baby girl up.
The guys and Jack left the room.
"Skitty!" Claire said.
"Yes, Ise Skittery. Who're youse?" Skittery asked her.
"Ise Claire Skitty", she said.
"Ise yer daddy", Skittery said.
"Daddy?" Claire asked.
"Yeah munchkin, daddy", Skittery said.
"Mama gone", Claire said.
"Ise know baby goil", Skittery said.
Claire took Skittery's hand and said, "Wese family. Family means nobody gits left behind oh fohgottan".
"Yeah, wese family. Da oddah newsies are yer family too", Skittery told her.
"Even Aunt Sarah?" Claire asked.
"Well Aunt Sarah is in love wid Uncle Jack…so yeah…even Aunt Sarah", Skittery said.
"Family fohevah?" Claire asked.
"Yes Claire. Family fohevah", Skittery said.
Topple and Skittery got married a few years later.
Two years later, Emily Anna Skittery was born.
