Summary: What if Legolas lost his life in the battle at Mordors' gates? A short drabble about the last thoughts of our fair elven prince before death takes hold of his soul.
Warning: Character Death
A/N:This drabble might be a little bit obscure and odd, 'cause I've written it when I was ill with fever. I somehow like it nevertheless.
Please don't strangle me if you find some grammar or spelling mistakes, once again I tried my best to find and eliminate them.
Leaving my corpse
I want to know, does it hurt to die?
Someone please tell me, 'cause I want to prepare for the thing that is about to take me away.
I thought that maybe people are happy when they go, but how do they know as they don't feel anymore? I wish I could be happy or even sad to go, but I feel nothing. I just feel cold.
The light is fading and so does the noise. Do the trees still whisper? Tell me, because I can hear them no more.
Instead the sea is singing to me; quite softly and it feels nice to my soul. 'A wave. A breath. A heart with grief.' It is a wonderful buzz in my ears; warming and caressing me. The gulls call my name while they fly above the deep blue ocean, pleading me to bathe in the velvety depths of the water.
I long to follow their call, but my feet won't move as I'm forced to take another way. The path I have to take is dark and silent.
And suddenly I am afraid. I'm afraid to leave. Do I really have to go? Is it a shame to fear the cold?
Someone is touching me, taking my hand. A desperate voice begs me to stay and I hope so much that I would be able to, but the darkness engulfs me faster and faster and it is cold. It is too cold to stay. Or is it too cold to go? I don't know.
Darkness, darkness. I don't want to be alone. Couldn't somebody leave with me? (And if I am to go, who will help them to stay?)
"Come, fair elf", I hear a voice, "I'll accompany you. Give me your hand; I'll help you to go."
The whisper lures me further into darkness, promising some light for me. And suddenly I wonder what I will see. Will there be trees? A wood? …A sea?
A/N:Sorry I don't know yet how to manage that the text isn't sticking together like that. (I also don't know the correct word for the empty spaces between lines lol) Umm.. can someone please tell me how to make these spaces?
