This is my first try at a bite-sized fanfiction. I think it's pretty good. Enjoy!

Luan stared up the the ceiling. On her room, she lied down on her back, feeling nothing but guilt, regret, and shame. Earlier that morning, she had attempted to pull a practical joke on Lincoln. Unfortunately, the prank went south, and in the end, ended up hurting him; something Luan would not forgive herself for anytime soon.

Ever since she first took up comedy, Luan has used it for nothing but laughs. She wanted to make people happy, after all! Never had she imagined that one day, even by accident, her shenanigans would cause actual pain to someone, especially someone she cared about! Yet, that's exactly what had happened that morning. She was too careless— no, too stupid— to not think ahead and see that her prank could have been dangerous. Her practical 'joke' had hurt and embarrassed Lincoln in front of the entire family.

Just then, Luan heard a light knock on her bedroom door. The comedian figured it was Lori or Luna, coming in to chew her out for what she had done that morning. It wasn't necessary. Luan felt guilty enough with her actions, and didn't need her older siblings reprimanding her. The comedian knew she had no excuses— she messed up, and didn't deserve to be forgiven. Not anytime soon. She just went too far this time.

"Go away", she moaned.

Ignoring the request, Luan saw Lincoln of all people cracking open the door. "Can I come in?", he asked.

Luan didn't understand why her little brother would face her so soon after today's incident. What should she say to him? The comedian knew that the first words out of her mouth to Lincoln should be an apology. What more was there to say to him after he had endured her cruel, sick idea of a 'prank' just a short while ago? But, as she looked at her little brother, she saw that he was devoid of any signs of anger. Luan was confused, and found herself unable to speak.

"It's not your fault, you know". Lincoln walked inside of the room, closing the door behind her.

"It is! I was too stupid to even think about the prank possibly going sour". Luan covered her face in her hands, not wanting to even look at her brother. She felt too guilty. "I'm quitting comedy forever. I can't put myself at risk of hurting somebody ever again".

Lincoln sighed. This wasn't the first time his sister had threatened to give up comedy.

"Luan", he said. "I'm going to be honest. It really wasn't your fault that anything went wrong. Lola predicted the whole thing, and sabotaged it. She knew you were going to try pulling a joke on me this morning, so she came to me, and we agreed to prank you back by making you think it went wrong".

What? How could Lola do something that cruel? Luan shot up, ready to pummel Lola. She made her feel horrible for nothing!

But, before she left her room, a thought ran through the young comedian's head. Lola had pranked her, and she managed to do it successfully. Sure, it was kind of cruel to make Luan believe that it had been her fault that Lincoln had been hurt, but, still, the pageant princess was new to the world of pranking. Even Luan had to admit, for her first time, Lola had managed to pull of something pretty good.

Just then, any thoughts of quitting comedy had vanished from Luan's mind. In fact, she wanted to do nothing but to do just the opposite now— starting with getting back at Lola.

In that moment, all the young comedian could do was laugh out loud.
