I remember her wavy, flowing hair blow in the wind as she pedalled away on her bike furiously.
I remember the way the combination of vicious winds and heavy, chilling rain gave me goose bumps all over my body.
I remember the way my voice cracked as I yelled out towards her.
"Typical, just run away like you always do," I remember the way her head spun around quickly after I called out to her. "BITCH!"
I remember the expression on her face; full of innocence and distress.
I remember the way my heart completely stopped when the red SUV swerved and ran over my precious Julia.
At that moment, it seemed like nothing else in the world was present except for the pouring rain dampening my entire body. I wanted nothing more than the rain to take me away and let me drown inside of it, so that nothing could hurt me. My legs suddenly gave out, and I collapsed right there on the side of the road, holding my face in my hands. My heart was now beating again, and had formed a thick layer of solid ice around it before continually being shattered into a thousand little pieces.
I tore my face apart from my palms, and looked forward. The red SUV was speeding away, still swerving down the road. I quickly sprinted after it for a few seconds, intending to teach the driver a lesson. I took of my left shoe and desperately hauled it at the back window, but failed by a foot. The car continued to drive away hastily, and was now almost completely out of view.
"YOU FUCKING COWARD!" I yelled at the top of my lungs, before running back to Julia, the frozen, slippery tar piercing my bare foot.
As I approached her, I saw her lying on the pavement, sobbing in a puddle of blood. Her breathtaking crystal blue eyes were unusually exhilarant and filled with thick tears. I kneeled down and took her perfectly round, beautiful head and placed it in my lap. She was shaking violently, and I quickly took of my jacket and placed it over her body as a blanket.
"Jules, are you okay?" I asked, terror staining my voice and my tears dripping down my face and onto her cheek. I stroked her hair.
"I don't think so," She confessed, her eyes meeting my green ones with a peaceful stare. "But just remember that I love you with all of my heart."
"I love you too." And with that, the slender girl's aquamarine eyes closed, never to be opened again while the rain washed away the blood staining the pavement.
