EARTH, Year 2186. Month 6.
A turian cloaked amongst the shadows of a nearby alleyway, watches the scene infront of himself. He watches as the humans; the systems alliance, and Shepard and her team make a break for the Conduit. The Reaper known as Harbinger, and seemingly the leader of the Reaper Fleet landed right by the beam; also known as the Conduit. He watches as a turian in blue armor nearly gets crushed by a Mako flipped by an attack from Harbinger, yet still gets caught in a resulting explosion from the mounted gun. Shepard had dodged out of the way of two Makos, then with her other squadmate being Edi's robotic form retrieves Garrus and quickly takes cover behind one of the previous Makos radioing the Normandy for Evac, after a few minutes the ship the Normandy SRR2 takes off leaving Shepard.
The looks she gives Harbinger he recognizes from years back when she had confronted him. She had made her break for it again and as she got close Harbinger had shot perfectly causing a Mako to crash into an oncoming other Mako causing Shepard to stop her run to quickly roll through, just as she was getting back up on her feet Harbinger firing a clean shot right at her, direct hit.
He could somehow tell that it wasn't at full power, but that this Reaper was definitely pissed off. As the Reaper left orbit to likely chase the Normandy, what was left of the Alliance crew beat a retreat. After being sure no one else was around he approached the rubble where Shepard last was before the direct hit, amazingly she was still alive as she took a breath as he approached. Barely.
Picking her up, she hadn't given up on him so why should he? Plus, if he lost her the Reapers would definitely succeed. He doubted anyone would trust him after his "stunt" years ago with Sovereign.
Looking up from Shepard's badly damaged form, Saren saw a Mako being tossed aside as if it were a toy by a hooded, human-shaped figure. Hopefully, whatever forces Shepard had managed to gather could hold out just awhile longer. The Citadel and Crucible would have to wait, helping Shepard was a high priority. The aura emitting from this figure is that of a Predator, a hunter. This 'human' merely motioned him to follow, looking right at the unconscious form of Shepard "There is a way to save her, should previous attempts fail" hands in his pockets, no signs of any emotion.
With no real other choice, he followed. They soon entered an abandoned apartment, the room having at least some medical supplies.
Meanwhile, on the Normandy Garrus had witnessed the direct-hit through a window. At the memorial located opposite the elevator, his gut instincts told him that his love, Shepard, was alive and would pull through, though when exactly he couldn't tell. Flaring his mandibles in the turian equivalent of a human smile, he headed to Shep's cabin. Entering the empty room was, awkward, felt different. Strange, as if he had stepped into an unknown plane of existence. A small squeak coming from behind as he checked on the fish Shepard had, turning he saw the space-hamster, dubbed "Boo 2", looking up with begging puppy-eyes. Noticing that the rodent was out of food he feed him. Not like there was anyone else that was going to take care of Shepard's pets while she was... Missing. Kelly Chambers and much of the rest of the crew didn't make it safely out of the Collector Base, so they weren't an option. He sat in her chair at her computer terminal, propping his legs up on the desk, sighing. "Shepard, please... Come back soon" Still holding on to the nameplate he stared at it, placing his other talons over the "Commander" part.
