Welcome, most gracious and gentle reader.

As I said in the summary, this story is a response to the Maglor in History Challenge. A very late one, no doubt.

In this story, Maglor does not walk in the histories of Europe, or even America. Somehow he has come to Asia. And yes, he does take part in history, although this would be rather hard to make out, given the point of view I took, and the vagueness.

The Boy lived in China, from 181 to 234 BC. He died aged fifty four. He was a very important figure in the course of Chinese History. There may have been no Three Kingdoms at all if he had not lived. But that doesn't really matter. I did not wish to portray him as a military leader, or a tragic hero. If I cannot see him as a living, thinking man, I could as well see him as someone whose real nature is now forgotten. I refuse to believe what they have made of his name, though they probably knew more about him than I did. After reading the story, you may understand why I said almost nothing about the part of his life that is most praised in ancient and modern texts alike.

Special thanks must be given to Maid of Ainur, Gladys, Therese, and most of all, Noldoris. These are all brilliant writers, and you can visit MoA or Noldoris on FF.net or Henneth Annun as well.

This foreword was written because I didn't want to put my author's notes in the story itself.

Now you may proceed, if you haven't done so already.
