IT HAS BEGUN.
Chapter 1- The Voice
Everyone is afraid of it. The one word that remains in the back of their minds for their entire lives. The curse that every living thing has. "What could this word possibly mean?" Some might say. Well, it's very simple. Death. Every living thing can have very different views on death. Some living things may have no idea what death means, because they're just... isolated. There can also be a sort of Hope in it for others. Some might think they would enjoy it. But here's the thing. DYING FEELS REALLY AWFUL. "But, dude!" (Some might say because most people don't know my name,) "How could you say that when you're obviously NOT dead?" Well, yeah you're right, I'm not dead, but I definitely have died before, and it felt disgusting! How would you like to be shot at by some light beam looking thing, and then the next second, you're suddenly inserted into another planet's society?!
Oh, pardon me, I was getting a little carried away there. But honestly, it sucks even more when you're past has been kept from you until you turned 19!
I'm afraid I'm getting a little carried away here. Let's start at the beginning. Well, of this life. It was only until I was about 4 or 5 my brain could start to form memories, so all I can really remember was that I was your basic kindergartner with kind, but a little to energetic at times parents, who really didn't have big problems very often. I went through elementary school quickly, getting A's and the occasional B's. I wasn't ever the kid who got bullied often, I usually put that on myself with immense overreactions. Middle school then came along, not being much different in 6th or 7th grade, but 8th was the first time I tried to date someone. It didn't last very long because I was losing interest rather quickly. I made my most amount of friends that year and through high school. Oh yeah, high school, don't have much time to think back to it, but it felt rather pleasant knowing a lot of people and walking back and forth on the almost questionably large campus. (It's definitely not like any of the movies AT ALL.) I tried to gain interest in someone, but that just didn't do anything. I eventually graduated with mid-range A's most of the time and got a few of scholarships and went into college. My first half of the year went perfect, until I took a trip out of the country to London.
People always say London is such a wonderful place to go to, and while the scenery was gorgeous, I started to get a weird feeling in me that felt exactly like… Oh yeah, I should also mention that when I was in high school, I got that same feeling, a constant nagging, and I tried to tell people about it, they only believed me until I took a trip to my doctor, and got everything checked, and there was nothing wrong. Not even mentally. But anyway, I was in London, and I got that exact feeling again. It went away my second to last year of high school, but it was now back again. And then I heard it. "You don't belong here…" When I heard the voice, I wasn't really freaked out, because that could have been any of the hundreds of people around me. It was about 3:30, so it was still definitely bright outside. I just waved away the feeling until I heard the same voice again, louder, but just by a little. "You're not supposed to be here… On this planet…" Those words definitely shook me, but I was more intrigued than I was freaked out. Especially when I noticed that they only got louder when I walked in a specific direction towards something. "Can you remember yet?" I spoke aloud. "Who's there? You are definitely confusing me." It spoke again. "Follow." "Well I was planning on doing that in the first place, so fine." I then saw that other people were looking at me. "What? Surely you all have seen stranger than a man talking!" They then started to go about their business again as I followed the voice. It led to a pretty dense wooded park, but it still worked as a park because the grass was neatly trimmed and there were benches here and there. Suddenly, the voice stopped. All I saw was that I was in a less popular spot of the park, because there was no one there. I thought I was crazy for a moment, so I decided to let myself relax for a bit. I just layed down right there on the ground, closed my eyes, and just listened to the wind whistling, the occasional birds chirping, and then a whoosh from a wind gust. But, for some reason, the whooshing didn't stop. I sat up and looked in front of me, until I realized the whooshing was behind me. And the whooshing stopped. Behind me was a blue.. "Police Public Call Box?" It looked very familiar to me, and then I remembered a certain show I watched only a few years ago. "The… TARDIS?" I thought I was hallucinating, so I decided to slap myself in the face. It was just from a BBC TV show! It might just be a prop or in your head! I looked again, and.. yeah, still there. I was not hallucinating at all. So I thought for a moment. A prop would never have a real lock on it, so it will probably just open with a green screen lining the inside! I tried to open it, and it was locked. From the inside. I thought about what I should do next, so I just knocked on the door. To my surprise, in about 20 seconds a man opened the door. "Oh, hello! Who are you?" He stepped out, and walked around me. "Uhhhhh…" I couldn't really talk, I first had to tell myself what was currently going on. The Doctor, a fictional character from a TV show, was walking around me. I had never seen that face before, so he must have been the 14th or higher. He took out his weird looking Sonic screwdriver and pointed it at me. He then looked closely at it. "Hmm.. human, 19, male, something I can't identify, and slightly surprised and upset. This is Earth, right?" He stuck his finger in his mouth, took it out, then stuck it up in the air. "Yep, definitely Earth, July, 2022. Now once again, what is your name?" "My name is Darius, and I suspect you're the Doctor?" He seemed shocked that I knew that. "Hmm… Darius. Quaint little name, isn't it? Wait a minute. How did you know I'm the Doctor? It usually goes me saying, 'I'm the Doctor! Oh really? Doctor Who?' something like that." I then looked around to make sure no one was around. "I don't think you want to know that, and you are not supposed to be here! How did you even get here? You know where you are, right?" He looked baffled for a moment, but then responded. "Well, I was on my way to get away from a bunch of Dalek ships, but out of nowhere I got forced straight away really fast, and I'm pretty sure I've ended up in some parallel universe. The only way I can get back would probably be the TARDIS's new console which has a reboot in it, which requires a device that at least has a clock on it from the place I ended up in. Got bad one time when I had to carve a pocketwatch out of wood and used a type of citrus to power it." I just decided to hand him my watch. "Well just use this here, and go quickly." He seemed surprised. "Are you sure? You're probably not going to get it back again." "Yeah, it's fine. It was just this one watch I found on the ground a few months ago I repaired." "Oh, well… alright. Thank you, Darius was it?" I slightly smiled. "Yep! Keep that watch good for me!" He was stepping back in. "I sure will! Thank you!" He closed the door behind him. Right before the TARDIS disappeared, I took out the camera attachment for my phone, put it on, and took a picture of it, one before and while it just whooshed away. "Well, no one's going to believe me for anything that just happened!" I started lightly chuckling to myself as I headed back to my hotel.
I ate dinner at a restaurant that I had never heard of, but the food was quite exquisite, a very good impression for some of my first food in London. I got to my hotel room when I noticed a letter shaped like a scroll on my bed. It said, The 21st of 2018. When I saw it, I then remembered something. Like a forgotten memory being unlocked. I was only 14 at that time. A Sunday. I met… someone. Someone that was not from… here. I stepped away from the note, until it suddenly emitted light from it. When the light faded, I looked at the scroll again, and it said… It's time for you to go back on your journey… Wait, how do you send mail again? I then realized what this meant. I went to the front desk to ask if anyone had sent me anything. "Why, it seems that we just got a package for you about 5 minutes ago! Here you go!" She pulled out a two foot by two foot package, cube shaped. What could it possibly be? "Thank you, I'll take this to my room now." The box was surprisingly light, so I was able to get it to my room quickly. As soon as I put it down, I cut it open. Inside was… Just mounds of loose dirt. "Really? Are you kidding me?!" I supposed it was just a prank or gag gift from someone. I was really intrigued on what it might of been, but that really put my hopes down. I put it in the corner of the room, hoping to throw it out later. Although, how was that box so light if it was filled to the brim? I decided that I was going to take a shower, so I pulled my clothes off, went to the bathroom, and just took it nice and easy for a little while. Well, until I stepped out and dry myself off while looking in the steamy mirror… Because just for a moment it looked shattered… oh wait. It WAS shattered. It really freaked me out, one for what caused that? And hopefully this mirror didn't cost much… I decided I would just put extra on my rent bill to pay for it. It was about 9:30, so I just decided to get ready for bed and take out my laptop to watch some of my favorite YouTubers. It was then about 10:30, so I turned it off and went to sleep. But then the dreams came...
Hello! Author here, just want to point out my name is not Darius, I'm too afraid to use my real name, and I wanted to make it a name that is pretty uncommon! So don't go around looking for anyone by that name, it won't work, you'll never find me :3
-P.S. Enjoy the story-
