April 1st

Disclaimer: I don't own Sherlock or anything.

"JOHN! JOHN, WAKE UP!" Sherlock shook John urgently to wake him up.

"Huh? What? What?" John asked, looking at his friend, and flatmate, tiredly.

"You're work has just rang, the clinic, you've been fired!" Sherlock said with utter urgency.

"What!? Oh my God, what the fuck, why?" John asked, sitting up with horrified eyes.

"You didn't turn up for work this morning; apparently they've had enough of you not coming in when they tell you to." Sherlock said.

"But… but I didn't think I was working today! And they know I also work with you and that that is my priority job!" John leapt up and started stripping, he fumbled in his wardrobe for underwear, pulled them on, as he changed he said "I'm going to go and talk to them, fuck, fuck, fuck!" he was distraught!

Just as he climbed into his jeans and was about to do his zip up Sherlock jumped up and shouted "APRIL FOOLS DAY!"

John halted in all his movements, he looked over at Sherlock who was stood with a big grin and his arms outstretched before him.

"Oh My God, I hate you so much." John said brokenly and sluggishly walked to his bed and fell onto it tiredly "I'm so going to get you back." He said, pulled the covers completely over himself, hiding under their warmth. After a few moments he heard Sherlock leave, slightly sniggering. He could feel his heart thumping in his chest, honestly, despite being completely angry at that stupid joke, he admired his own quickness so early in the morning.

An hour later John made his way downstairs, fully dressed and with an extra frown to top it off. Sherlock was sat at the table in the living room with his laptop open. John made himself a cup of tea and he and his tea sat beside Sherlock.

"Was I good? I've never done an April Fools joke on anyone, though many have on me, only a quarter of them working." Sherlock said, those curious eyes searching John's face.

John was mad at Sherlock, but those words were too difficult to remain mad at, the man had never played fun on people, it was cute that he had wanted to now and John was glad he was humanising a bit since they'd met each other, it seemed Sherlock hadn't been so open and joyful before and maybe he just needed a proper friend to do things like this.

"Yes, it was good." John sighed "Fucking brilliant, I've never been so fooled in all my life. I felt like a right idiot, standing there, when you shouted 'april fools day'."

"So it worked, that's good. I rather enjoyed that!" Sherlock smiled and leant back in his chair, chuffed.

John sighed and took a sip of his tea; of course Sherlock enjoyed his complete breakdown this morning.
