There's fire in his eyes as he looks down on the destruction. There's no warmth in those green eyes. No trace of mercy. Some others gossip and joke about if it was ever actually there. It wasn't a joke in the sense that no one really knew the answer. No one knew what had happened to make the fourth go quite as insane. He was insane, but it was the calm kind of insane. No one saw any emotion of any kind portrayed in Raenef the fouth's eyes. No one really had any desire to.

So Raenef the fourth just stood watching a village burn, hearing the villagers' screams and a burnt-flesh smell fill the air. Eclipse, his loyal servant standing behind him, seeing everything he saw. Hearing everything he heard, smelling everything he could smell. A thousand years ago when Eclipse wasn't in the service of the Raenef's he would have flinched. Now he was just used to it, his master wouldn't be pleased if he wasn't, by now. The earlier Raenef's had practically beaten it into him. And getting used to the sight of his own blood, Eclipse got used to the sight of others. And he relished it, because it wasn't his and therefore no pain was expected of him.

Raenef ran his fingers over a small flame, watching the flesh and muscle melt right off. He didn't wince, his eyes didn't even register the pain, they never did. Than Raenef took his hands from the fire and wiped the slimy hot flesh across Eclipse's face, slapping the wet meat and blood, staining the pale flesh, Eclipse could feel his lord's finger bones scrape roughly across his cheek. His lord smiled, "You look beautiful." He murmured, the movement hardly showing across his lips. And than reaching across, Raenef the fourth licked his own flesh off his servant's cheek.

He than turned, licking his lips, noticing his servant's shudder, did nothing about it. Than turned and began walking in the direction of the castle. The screams and the burning fading behind him as the flesh on his hand began to knit, and the burns faded as if they had never been. And walking away, Raenef didn't see Eclipse rub his sleeve across his face. Wiping the blood and slimy still-warm skin of his lord away.

Demon Diary does not in any way belong to me.
