A/N: There's a little background behind this poem: One night I couldn't sleep because I had been going through some trials, and I had been very sad and distraught. I was so upset that I started denying that my Savior didn't love me, since He was making me go through all these trials. Then I remembered something my father had told me a long time ago about His eternal love and mercy towards us. I started thinking about what He did for us—all of us—and I poured my heart out in this poem. I hope you enjoy it.

Disclaimer: This is my personal poem, and no one else's.

A friend had once said to me:

"How do you know the Savior love thee?"

I turned to her and I pondered her thought.

I said: "My fiend, I shall tell thee—be not distraught.

"He denied not his love for the children of men,

Although he was persecuted again and again.

He taught true doctrine to your family and friends

And his unconditional love for us never ends.

"He bled from every pore on an olive tree in Gethsemane,

For your sins, your family's, and also for me.

He was already weakened and exhausted from previous things

But he did not stop, not even when the first birds on the morn sing.

"His hands and feet were nailed to a cross, a spear pierced in his side

His tears he did not even try to hide.

He was crucified and died so that we may live

He cried out: 'Oh, father, please forgive!' "

I concluded my speech and said with a smile:

"Dear friend, although you may seem down every once in a while,

Do not deny his love; for behold, if he did not love you and me,

He would not have done those things for thee."

A/N: this is kinda different from what I usually write, but I felt like sharing it. Please review, and PLEASE, NO BASHING AGAINST MY BELIEFS!
