Author's note:
Hey! So this one-shot is based on something that happened to me, and as embarrassing as it is, its true. So hope you like it, and yeah, its really short! ENJOY!
Tigress was watching from the sidelines. Only smiling at the music. Her friends were enjoying the festival at the village they had just helped. The lights were up, lighting up the whole area. And a lot of people were dancing, thanks to Viper, who started this whole thing.
You are wondering how did the snake started it? Well, this band of musicians started to play some music, which was really enjoyable, and without even giving it a second thought, the snake went to the middle of the town square, and began dancing. Yes, and then Monkey and Mantis joined her. And the rest of the villagers dropped their busy schedules and joined them.
And that's how an unplanned festival took place. Crane was now dancing too. And she could only see Po on the opposite side, just watching, with a wide smile on his face. It was as if he wanted to join in, but he couldn't...
And she was here, just listening, wanting to move to the music, but unable to. She was smiling, she loved how the kids were laughing, twirling each other around. She laughed at the sight of everyone being so...together.
And then he walked up to her. Po was smiling, looking at the people, and he extended his hand to her. He met her eyes briefly, before looking away.
"Wanna dance with me?" He simply asked her. And without hesitating, she nodded, laughed and took his hand. They both walked to an empty space over at the corner.
And then, she remembered why she wasn't dancing. She didn't know how. Oh dear. But maybe he did.
The only problem, is that he didn't.
They were standing right in front of each other, holding hands, with wide smiles on their faces.
"I don't know how to dance" She admitted. Her cheeks were red, and she chuckled, looking down at the floor, and then briefly catching a glance of their intertwined hands. He chuckled too,
"Yeah, me neither" He said, his cheeks also red.
But the music was there, the laughter, love and joy were there. And their hands were there, and dancing couldn't be that hard. If normal people do it, then a kung fu master should have no problem at all.
And they swung to the rhythm. And they had the grace of a bear. They looked ridiculous, and they knew it. They weren't in sync, and it was impossible to tell if they were even trying to follow the melody. But they were laughing. And that was the only thing that mattered to them.
After almost tripping over their own feet at least twice, they let go of each other. They walked out of the dancing area and rested.
"Well, that was fun" Po said, earning a chuckled from the feline. She blushed and nodded, the soft feeling of his paws coming back to her,
"Yes. But next time, let's take some dance classes"
They chuckled and agreed to it. But that night, they both slept with that memory, of holding hands and going to their own beat, of swinging to that marvelous tune, one that only they could listen to.
