She had been drowning

She had been drowning. She could recall as much. Her relationship and her career as an aviator had been going nowhere, leaving her feeling dead on the inside. She had started to crave for life, for something to give her a new meaning.

Then he had come along, bringing a light to the darkness she had not even realized had shrouded her. For the first time in what felt like forever, she found herself smiling and laughing again in response to his presence. Her desire to live had been sparked once more.

He was no longer a part of her life. Like so many things, his presence had been brief, fleeting even. He was always with her, though, lending her strength when she needed it, he and his strange lavender kisses.
