Once upon a time (in the - dynasty),

Humans waged countless wars with their most feared foe:

Dragons.

Prologue, No One POV:

It was a long night battle. Bloodshed could be seen everywhere. Only one single warrior survived amidst the feud-

His name was Zeref.

At the Emperor's Court

"Your majesty we mustn't wage any further wars! The mighty dragons shall simply abolish humanity without a trace!", Makarov plead to the elders of Fiore.

Zeref, plagued with the desire for revenge, argued back, "Nonsense! Are you implying that us humans are weak?!"

One of the elders, Yajima, raised his hands to silence their dispute, "Now now general Zeref we mustn't cause futile casualties. We have lost many of our soldiers to the dragons while they haven't done us harm. Zeref, you are to be removed from the front lines. Please do rest so that your injuries may heal."

"THIS IS AN OUTRAGE ARE YOU TRYING TO FIRE YOUR STRONGEST WARRIOR?!"

Yajima paid no heed to Zeref's outburst and simply said, "I am merely removing you from dangerous battle lines so that you can rest in ease."

"THIS UNACCEPTABLE LOAD OF BULLSHIT I WILL NOT TOLERATE."

Makarov sighed, "General Zeref you ought to take this opportunity to heal fully."

Zeref pointed his finger accusingly at the old man, "WISE MY ASS. WHEN THE DRAGONS BEAR ITS FANGS IT WILL BE TOO LATE."

And with that the general stormed out, his eyes determined to slay dragons as always.

Makarov watched from far behind and murmured, "I believe its time for me to retire as well. I bid my farewells to you Yajima sir and your council members."

Yajima, tired of these restless disputes, simply waved his hand, allowing Makarov to go. The 120 year old has served him well and now his time was over.

In the hometown of Magnolia, a wooden house stood tall.

"FATHER YOU'RE BACK!"

Makarov smiled upon his daughter Mavis, currently 22 years old, who never ceased to be childish despite her adult stage. He patted, "Yes yes I am, daughter for the better or worse. Now, lets go to the dining hall. I have brought you your favorite dim sums from the capital and peach grown from the royale garden itself." Mavis jumped with glee and cheered, "Yay!"

Two weeks later...

There was a sudden knock in the door. Makarov asked, "Daughter dear please open the door I've only enough muscles to play chess. Old age is wearing me out." Mavis knew that, despite living longer than most humans, father was tired in the bones and dry skin was showing. "Yes father," she murmured/bowed and she went to see who their guest was. Oddly enough, it was a strangely dressed man with an unconscious women he give piggyback ride.

"Forgive me for intruding at such late hour but please save my wife. I heard a professional physician lives here."

Mavis responded quickly, "Hai that would be my father Makarov. Please come with me to his room. He can barely move around for I do not wish to trouble oto-san."

10 minutes later...

The odd man's wife was treated by now and he bowed with gratitude, "Thank you for treating my wife. How shall I ever pay back sincerely?"

Makarov hoarsely uttered, "For starters, please tell me your names."

"Jude Heartfilia. My wife here is Layla Heartfilia."

"And according to your wife's symptoms, I take it that she was shot by an arrow. Please do tell me why that is."

...

"We are the kings and queens of dragons. Zeref was hunting us."

Mavis dropped the teapot she was holding and shuddered at what were assumed to be powerful creatures, "W-What..."

Makarov, having experienced the presence of dragons due to his work, only pressed further, "I see that the general's soul is still raging. And your wife has a baby inside her womb?"

"She is yet to be born but her name will be Lucy. Since you have saved us, my gift to you is that your kind daughter's son (A/N: its Natsu) is to be betrothed with our daughter Lucy. So for now, sayonara, matta ne (good bye, see you again)."

Mavis, unable to recover from her shock, simply thought, 'Heaven condemn the union of a mortal and a dragon.'

Summary:

Not so long afterward there was a great epidemic, the flu season, and 40% of the population of Mavis' hometown was wiped out. An even more surprising event was that Zeref 'visited' the town and there was a great fire, which killed some more people. Mavis took in 2 kids she saved there and by now it was a family of four: Natsu, Mavis' child, Gray, Erza, and Mavis herself (A/N: Letsay Mavis' husband ditched her or something =u=;;).

16 Years later...

"Oi flamebrain shaddup!"

"No you shut up I'm trying to study medics!" (A/N: ehehe never knew Natsu would study)

"Only weaklings study!"

"Said something ice prick?!"

"STOP FIGHTING THIS INSTANT RIGHT NOW. Gray, leave Natsu to study in peace. Natsu, he may be a retard but do not ever call your best friend/brother an ICE PRICK."

"H-Hai!"

This routine has been going on for years but oblivious Erza still hasn't figured out that the brothers that were a compatible pair as fire to ice (A/N: Literally). Mavis giggled softly in the background. This indeed was a peaceful family, but little did they know, this was about to change.

Lucy POV:

Uwahh its my first day on Earthland and everything looks so new! I mustn't take off my disguise though or else mama (A/N: she's 16 years old now but thats how she refer her mom when she writes the letters) will scold me.

Aquarius, my guardian, hushed, "Baka! Have you forgotten your duty? As the Dragon Princess, ruler of the wind and sea, you're suppose to make it rain this afternoon or else the rice fields will dry! What will our race do if you fail and make the villagers spite us?!"

Scorpio, her crush, laughed and reassured, "It's Lucy's first day in the mortal realm. Of course she would be excited. And I'm sure everything will be fine."

Aquarius scoffed, "Maybe, but she's too naive to think better. Lucy, you haven't forgotten to bring the holy stone did you?"

I smiled, "Of course not." From my pink linen yukata's sleeve i brought out a sapphire, but like no other, it was shaped a tear drop and its radiance shone many variations of sea blue sky. "Good", Aquarius approved, "Now do it like the way you did in training."

"Hai."

*By the sea side, sitting on a rock*

I took a deep breath, and with one hand holding out the tiny stone, I uttered an ancient spell, releasing the sapphire's true form- a flute. Grasping it, I began playing a timeless melody. Its harmonious music rang out into the sea, and through sending these sound vibrations, the sea understood my command:

Rain

Sure enough, it did, starting little by little to a downpour.

Scorpio yelled, "Lucy! That's too much rain. The village is going to flood!"

I panicked and lost my control over the sea. It immediately turned into chaos without guidance and by now gray clouds cackled in the sky which means- lightning.

Crap.

I fumbled with my hands unsure which part of the song I should play to calm the storm. Aquarius screamed, "Forget the rain! We must save the villagers now!"

Thunder switched to hail storm and houses were being ruined and people's heads were bleeding from being hit. "'Kay!", I yelled back.

Natsu POV:

I was reciting some scrolls in my study room when Wakaba, the last patient I treated, abruptly entered, crying, "Its raining hailstorm! You must save the villagers!"

Wait what.

Wakaba brought me outside and sure enough everyone was scrambling around, trying not to be hit but for no avail, it was indeed raining ice everywhere. Gray yelled behind me, "What the hell are you doing flame brain?! Mother (Mavis) told us specifically to NEVER GO OUT IN THE RAIN!"

I yelled back, "I know but everyone's injured I gotta treat 'em quickly or else they'll be infected!"

Gray, not knowing words like 'infect' or anything to educational, stare his (not blood-related) brother dumb founded. Heck, he was a fighting prodigy not a scholar like Natsu. What can he argue back with?

30 minutes later

I'm tired of treating about 70 people in the same time but everyone's relying on me 'cos I'm the only physician in this area. Oh well. I'm on my last patient whose an old woman but before I reached there I could see a girl around my age frantically trying to help. She had a unique shade of blonde hair that shone brightly and her brown eyes were sorta cute...

Ugh what the hell am I thinking.

After putting on a cool wet towel on the old woman's head I turned my attention to the new girl. "I haven't seen you before are you knew to this town?" Before the girl could answer a voice of an kid screamed, "Help!" Turning my head to the direction of the voice's owner, I see a 10 year old on top of a weak flat wood boat that was dangerously reaching to the middle of the river. Shit.

I ran as fast as my feet could bring me and quickly dived into the body of water. Thank god I knew the basics of swimming.

15 minutes later

The kid returned safely ashore and his mother thanked me while scolding her son but I didn't care. I turned back my attention to the spot where the girl was and I find her missing. I frowned unsightly. Hope she wasn't injured, I didn't get to treat her.
