Enjoy, I just felt the need to hammer out some Harley fic.
Disclaimer: Oh, I wish Batman & DC Comics were mine. But they're not. I still cry about it sometimes.

The padded cell was just for her, placed on an entirely different floor than the Clown Prince of Crime's. She'd stay there everyday, prancing about in the dream world of hers, making others wonder if she really took the 900 milligrams of lithium prescribed to her daily. Twenty hours (sometimes 18-if she was lucky) a day where she'd rock back an fourth, telling those who didn't want to listen-guards, doctors, inmates-how her Puddin would save her from the hellhole he got her into.
"He's so clever my Puddin, he's probably just waiting for the right moment. Maybe a hot air balloon this time, to whisk us off to Paris! Wouldn't that be fantastic?"
She'd scream it to nobody, professing her love, making sure Red, Catlady, Riddle Guy all knew her devotion to the man who ruined her. That was the majority of her day, until the lithium started to take effect, and the world be becoming a reality that she didn't want to face.
"I can't be in here! My roots are started to show, who'll feed the babies?"
Little did she know that the "babies" Bud and Lou were in the Gotham Zoo, enjoying a life where their biggest concern was "Mommy" getting them back. But she didn't know that. All she knew was that if she screamed loud enough, banged on the plexus-glass wall hard enough, she'd be given whatever it was that helped her slip back into her dream world.
There she'll believe that she's playing a game that she'll win, and the prize-of course-will be Mr.J. But where is he? She asks, wide-eyed and momentarily scared. And Harley's conscience will fight to gasp some air in the wild, tumbling ocean of her mind, but the sanity's too weak to fight the waves of insanity, it'll sink down. Of course, her sanity will resurface, but it'll take another few hours for her medication to win against the tide. She'll have plenty of time to look behind corner that aren't there to find the man who caused her the shores of her mind to become uneasy.
Lather, rinse, repeat until her Prince in a purple tuxedo decides he "needs" her and breaks them out to destruct Gotham. Lather, rinse, repeat until she's back where she started, in her cell, in her lithium dream world.

Not sure if I like it or not, but it's thoughtful I feel. Review, please? Kisses!
