...If I smile and don't believe, soon I know I'll wake from this dream. Don't try to fix me I'm not broken. Hello, I'm the lie living for you so you can hide. Don't I know I'm not sleeping. Hello, I'm still here. All that's left of yesterday.
Gasps echoed through the music filled the room as they stared, frightened, at the blood splattered girl. She lay motionless on the floor carrying and iPod that softly played the music. In the other hand she held a deep red lipstick. One teacher turned towards the stall door. Written in the lipstick were the words 'Am I pretty enough now?'
Suicide. That's what this was and that's what everyone knew it was. There was no denying that a smart, kind young girl could have been murdered. Many have noticed the bullying and how she was always drawn into herself. Not that anyone had ever talked to her about it. She was always smiling but there was a faint look about her. Like something wasn't right with her.
Playground school bell rings again. Rainclouds come to play again.
They sighed, waiting for the ambulance to arrive. Some looked for what could have caused the cuts, but nothing was there. They looked for anything she could have strangled herself with, and still nothing was there. She was even in the middle of the stall , which didn't explain how she managed to knock herself unconscious, seeing as how the strangle marks weren't enough to do it.
Has no one told you she's not breathing? Hello, I'm your mind giving you someone to talk to. Hello.
The girl's chest rose and fell in an unsteady motion. The light breaths suggesting that she was having difficulty breathing, but nothing could be done until the ambulance arrived. They seemed to slowly take there time.
Some worried about what the others would think. School wasn't out yet, and carrying a girl into the ambulance would definitely fail to go unnoticed. Teachers bit there lips in anxiety as the EMT's finally came. They gingerly picked the girl up, and placed her on the stretcher. Placing a blanket over her body, they carried her out to the ambulance.
"Did anyone see what happened?" one EMT asked the group of teachers the discovered her.
"It was suicide. She left a message on the stall saying so."
The EMT sighed, and nodded, and whispered something to the others. They packed the girl away and drove off to the hospital.
If I smile and don't' believe, soon I know I'll wake from this dream. Don't try to fix me I'm not broken. Hello, I'm the lie living for you so you can hide. Don't cry.
Nurses placed the girl on a bed and hooked up her IV. She was alive, and very lucky. The nurses soon left her to recover, walking down the long hallway leaving behind a glowing sign that read: Mental Ward.
Suddenly I know I'm not sleeping. Hello, I'm still here. All that's left of yesterday
This is a girl/girl love story. If that bothers you DON'T read on. The song in italics is Hello by Evanescence. I own nothing but the story.
