Prologue

"If only, if only,

the woodpecker sighs,

the bark on the threes was as soft as the skies.

As the wolf waits below,

hungry and lonely, he cries to the moon;

if only, if only."

Slowly a small form of a girl slowly walked up the hill while singing the same sentences over and over again. In her hand she held a rope that went to the dog that was walking behind her, silently enjoying the girls voice in the dark.

The girl kept singing until she finally arrived to her final destination on top of a small mountain. She sat down on a rock and looked in to the dog's eyes.

"Now it's your turn to show the way" she said and took the rope off the dogs neck and throwing it away. The dog immediately turned around and walked a few steps before starting to dig and the girl once again started to sing.

"If only, if only,

the woodpecker sighs,

the bark on the threes was as soft as the skies.

As the wolf waits below,

hungry and lonely, he cries to the moon;

if only, if only."

After what seemed like half an hour the dog stopped digging and the girl stopped singing. Neither one of them seemed tired.

The girl stood up and went to the place where the hole was. She and the dog looked at each other before the dog started howling.

The girl let her hand slowly move forward and then she reached for the small tube lying in the hole.

She lifted it so the moon's light could lit up the object in her hand. She smiled as she saw two letters on it. K and B.

"Hi grandma" the girl said with a voice barely over a whisper.

Then once again she started to sing clear and high and accompanied by the dog at her side.

"If only, if only,

the woodpecker sighs,

the bark on the threes was as soft as the skies.

As the wolf waits below,

hungry and lonely, he cries to the moon;

if only, if only."
