Thoughts a Man Wanting to Marry… Again

Summary: Scott wants to ask Emma to marry him. Please read & review!

A/N: Today is October 11, my birthday, and I thought it would be awesome if I waited till this day to write it. Enjoy!

Disclaimer: Do not own either of them or their current relationship (although I do want too).

PLEASE NOTE: First off, this story is sort of to challenge my self to reach around 450 words (not including the above stuff- sadly), so it will be around that shortness, or a tiny bit longer. It's also written a bit weird, but I wrote it how it was in my head.

Also this challenge will show up at Psychic Affair (link in my profile) my Scott/Emma fansite once the site re-opens on the 15th, but don't worry, your entry can look nothing like this.

He never expected that he would ever think he would ever do this again when he got married to Jean, but somehow it came down to this. He was going to ask for her hand in marriage. Surprising, no? Well at least to him when he started to even think of an actual future with her.

He never thought they would become so close to the fact he felt such a strong love for her that he would want to marry her. Sure he broke apart his marriage to have an affair with her and then dating her right after his late wife's death… but besides that there hadn't been a worse moment together then fighting over Jean.

Everything he did for and with her, he never once wanted to take it all back. Not even when Jean had found out about their "therapy" lessons. The moments he spent with her; kissing her, holding her, looking at her, would always bring him comfort and love. His nightmares; losing his brother, losing Jean the first time, Apocalypse, and the times an X-Man or X-Woman died, could and was always calmed by her touch when he wakes up to find her already up and comforting him.

Maybe he's being irrational in all this and not able to see if she was deceiving him and the X-Men. But he strongly against it and throws those questions out of his head. Whatever happens happens… if it wasn't meant to be then she won't say yes, she wouldn't stay at the mansion or with the X-men.

But he is willing to marry her, despite everyone else's beliefs. Just like he ignored them when they said that he and Jean were meant to be together, sure it could be true to some extent, but they don't love each other anymore… at least to the volumes that they once did. They're relationship fell apart, they grew apart. They never noticed, or didn't want to notice.

But she is good for him. She's not going to keep dying and being resurrected time and time again like Jean did. She makes him in a lighter and brighter mood then I have been in years. But most importantly she loves me.

His name was Scott Summers, or as he is better known to his teammates, Cyclops. Powers that shoot laser beams his eyes, uncontrollable power because of a brain injury when he was a child.

The woman he wants to marry is the Emma Grace Frost, or as she's better known, the White Queen. She is a powerful telepath and can turn herself into an indestructible organic diamond. Former villain of the X-Men, one that at many times almost beat them or actually did.

As he watches himself look into the mirror, he whispered lightly to himself, for practice.

"Emma Frost, will you marry me?"
