Like Treasure
Rin calmly took in the scene in front of her.
Yuzu, their best friend and leader, lounging on Serena's lap as they and Ruri talked about something, the tears falling from the eyes of the sitting duo visible even from where she was standing. As she joined them, sitting in front of the pinkette and taking her hand, her head dropped as some tears as well.
"Why are we crying?"
Serena couldn't answer as Ruri softly chuckled before speaking.
"Because we know that this is happening? And that it had to happen?" she choked on her own words as she turned down to look at Yuzu, who was growing more tired as the moments ticked away.
"Don't cry..." her whispered words to the other three made them look away as Serena managed to talk as well. The bluenette's hair was in a disarrey, her usually sharp and collected eyes brimming red with the unspoken pain she was hiding inside.
"You are right... why are we crying? You don't have to be a hero to feel this good in life... you just..."
"... have to try..." the greenette finished barely above a whisper as Ruri's hold on the pinkette's hand thightened.
"It's alright... we'll be fine... you can close your eyes now."
Rin and Serena nodded with the purplenette's statement, their eyes barely holding back their waterworks too, as they watched their tired leader take a shaky before she did as told.
Yuzu graced them with one last smile before closing her eyes. For good.
