Chapter 1: Welcome the New Friend
"Thomas…I'm nervous."
"What" said Thomas? It was hard to hear someone when they were driving a steam engine right next to you.
It was nearly sundown on the Island of Sodor. People were going home to their families and beginning to settle down. But as this happened, two tank engines were puffing down the line towards Ffarqhuar.
One was a blue E2 with six small wheels, a short stumpy funnel, a short stumpy boiler, and a short stumpy dome. It also had a number one painted on the side of the water tanks.
The driver was a teenage boy who looked to be about seventeen. He had black hair, blue eyes, and wore a blue shirt with a number one on it, with black jeans and red shoes.
The other tank engine was an elegant 0-4-0. It was painted dark pink with golden side rods and smokebox. On the side tanks was the word Lady written in Golden Letters.
The driver was a teenage girl who looked to be about sixteen. She had long golden hair, purple eyes, and wore a purple top that stopped below her chest, a long purple skirt, along with a small diamond above her chest, with a long piece of purple fabric going around the sides. She also wore purple and white shoes.
Lady (the girl) said something that Thomas couldn't hear.
"Better Now" asked Lady.
"Yeah much better. What did you do" asked Thomas
"I said a spell that would allow us to talk to each other without the noise from our engines getting in the way" said Lady.
"Awesome, I didn't know you could do things like that" said Thomas.
"Well they're a lot of things you don't know about me. I'll be happy to show you what else I can do later if you want" said Lady, her cheeks starting to turn a deep shade of crimson.
"Maybe I'll take you up on your offer. Anyway, what were you saying before" asked Thomas.
Lady's face turned sad and she looked away from Thomas.
"I'm nervous Thomas. What if your friends don't like me and what if STH doesn't hire me? What am I going to do" she asked.
"Lady, Look At Me" said Thomas, emphasizing each word.
Lady looked over and saw Thomas staring at her intimidently.
"Don't say things like that Lady. My friends will think your AMAZING! Your beautiful, smart, and kind. I won't be surprised if Gordon, Henry, James, and Percy start hitting on you. And STH will probably hire you on the spot if you show him what you can do" said Thomas.
Lady smiled "You really think so"?
"I know so" said Thomas with a smirk.
