Chapter 1: A Dark New Era

Prince Draco Malfoy (a.k.a Prince of Slytherin) was about to enter his seventh year at Hogwarts. The Dark Lord had won and Harry Potter was dead. And to the surprise of many, Hermione Granger was a princess, daughter of the nefarious Lord Voldemort. Hermione joined Tom's army at the beginning of Sixth year when she learned that she was the heiress to Voldemort's newly conquered lands. Lets just say that Potter and Weasley were quite pissed that the key to the chest of knowledge was now made of the blackest of obsidian rather than the purest of gold as they thought.

Draco was told as a kid that purebloods were better and far more important than mere mudbloods and halfbloods. But when Draco received his mark, the Dark Lord had said, "In the inner circle, there is no blood status. If you were to fall in love with a muggleborn, you could be with her as long as you kept it a secret and managed to keep your image as a prejudiced pureblood. No one would stop you."

"Draco. Draaaaacooooo... DRACO!"

"Huh? I wasn't doing anything Mum! I swear!" Draco replied, snapping out of his trance.

"Um... I'm not Narcissa. It's me, Hermione."

"Sorry Hermione. I was thinking about... personal stuff." apologized a blushing Draco.

"I could tell. Anyways, my... dad... says that you need to see him about something. He let slip that it's about someone named Lunaria."

(A/N: Lunaria means Moonsong. My cousin is named that. My aunt made the name. Isn't it a beautiful name?)

Draco felt a rush of guilt mixed with embarrassment and sadness. Hermione doesn't know that her real name is Lunaria. How cruel of the Dark Lord to keep such a thing from his own daughter. Draco got up to leave for the study in which his Lord spent most of his time.

"Thanks. See you later Hermione."

"Bye Draco."

_=^.^=_

As Draco walked to the study, he was thinking about how he was falling for Hermione, the goddess Athena reborn, and what the Dark Lord had said a year ago. He decided he was going to ask the Dark Lord if he could date Hermione.

Draco stood in front of the doors to the study with his hand up, ready to knock when the Dark Lord's voice said, "Enter young Draco. I know what you wish to ask but for now we must talk about important matters."

Draco entered and closed the door behind him before placing several silencing spells before he spoke.

"My Lord, what is it you wish?"

(A/N: I know, a cliffie but I thought that with cliffies it spices the story up. So please rate the chapter from 10 as horrible to 1 being awesome. I also would like your opinion on what I could have done better, what you liked the best in the chapter and/or any ideas for future chapters. Hope you liked it and please continue reading!)

*P.S. The Riddles and the Malfoys are royalty in this story. Just for a heads up!*
