The Book
Behind Professor Dumbledore's desk stood a wooden podium. On this podium sat a large, leather bound book, with the pages in gold leaf. Upon the book was a golden quill. This quill was a magic quill. It sensed that every time someone was born with magical blood a name would be added. The name would be added in blood.
For just over four weeks now the quill had remained still and silently; not even twitching. Professor Dumbledore was beginning to get worried, with no magical births for the last four weeks Hogwarts had been starved of students. A thin layer of dust had accumulated upon the books almost perfect pages, it needed a jolly good dusting, but, no one could touch the book, for it was a magical one. If one were to touch it, well, no one quite knew what would happen.

Meanwhile
"One good heave love and we'll soon have the nipper out!" the mid-wife said. Lily Potter gave a huge push, the screamed in absolute agony as the tiny, pink object finally made its appearance in the world.
"Well done!" the mid-wife lifted the screaming child up and slapped its tiny round pink buttock. It screamed and its presence was announced. "There you are Mrs Potter, you have a beautiful bouncing baby boy." She gave the specked, bloody child to its mother and cut the umbilical cord.
"A boy." Lily breathed. "James, we have a son!" James Potter had stood in the far corner throughout the birth looked pale a vivid.
"I have a son." He breathed. He took the tiny baby from his wife and walked across the delivery room, to the open window. "I HAVE A SON!" he shouted to the world.

The quill quivered, it twitched. Finally it leapt into the air and wrote in large bold, blood letters HARRY POTTER. Professor Dumbledore smiled. They have done it he thought.
