One morning, Eddie was in his office. He had started at looking at pictures of him and his brother Teddy, smiling and remembering the fond memories. He smiled as he remembered the day he and Teddy were at the beach goofing around and playing ukuleles. He also looked at a portrait of him and Teddy posing wearing clown noses when they first affiliated themselves with the LAPD force in 1925. He also grinned as he looked at pictures of him and his girlfriend Dolores enjoying themselves at the beach. Lots and lots of happy times.

He is then interrupted when he hears a knock on the door.

"Come in," Eddie called. The door opened and in came Roger.

"Oh, hey, Roger," said Eddie.

"Hello, Eddie," said Roger. "I have a surprise for you."

"Really? What is it?"

Roger brings out a wrapped box. Eddie takes it and looks at it.

"What's in it?", asked Eddie.

"A special gift just for you."

"A new gun?", asked Eddie.

"Nope."

"A new suit?"

"Nope."

"Shoes?"

"Nope, nope, and nope."

"Well, what is it?", Eddie anxiously asked.

"Open it and find out," said Roger.

Eddie opens it and finds a portrait of himself and Roger.

"What else could I have gotten for you other than a picture of me and my very best pal Eddie?", smiled Roger. "Happy birthday, old buddy."

"Oh, how nice," said Eddie. "Thanks, Roger."

"Sure thing," said Roger. "Well, I must be off! Happy birthday!"

"Thanks!", said Eddie as Roger then left.

Glad that Roger was the first person / toon who remembered his birthday, Eddie spent the rest of his office hours with a smile on his face.
