The Words I Held Back

Lifting my head up, admiring the breathtaking view of the Twilight accuring infront of me. I glance to the person next to me from the corner of my eye, her steel iris reflecting the magenta colour of the sky. I notice her lips curled into a smile, which made me smile, too.

"Ritsu?"

I turned my head to her, her eyes met mine. I blinked several times, wait, was I daydreaming?

"Yes, Mio?

Her head returned to its past position, looking up at the sky.

"Once we graduate from the University, I-I don't want to get seperated from the rest of the band, I want us to be together forever."

My eyes softened and also a soft smile appeared on my face.

"I want us to be, too. I know you know that there isn't forever, right? Forever doesn't exsist, but end does. Let's spend this time together until it's the end."

I could see that she was in deep thought to what I said, her eyes aimed down and stared at the ground.

Once she rose her head up, I see her eyes getting teary, now, I regret saying that, I panicked for a bit with thoughts swirling around my head.

My body moved on it's own, my arms extended and leaned forward. Soon, my body collided with hers, an arm around her waist and the other on her head, pulling her closer to me. My whole shivered once I felt a pair of hands against my back. We stayed in the same position until her sobbing stopped. I released my grasp on her and pulled back, but I couldn't, her arms encircled around my neck, making it impossible for me to get out. Moments later, she finally let go, I could see that the tears have dried out, how I could see her dimples when she smiles.

I felt a loud thump in my chest.

"Ritsu, I have some great news!" She gestured to the pink, heart pinned envelope in her hands.

Hearing my name, I turn my head back. "Mio? What's this 'Great news' I heard?" Her smile widen, "Kawabata Naoya (川端直也) from class A-8 asked me out!" Her excited expressions made me fake a smile, I wouldn't want her to reject him because of me. "Really? Well, that's nice of him." I scratch my cheek with my index finger and played it cool. "I gotta' go to class, Mio, see you."

Ritsu, me and Naoya are officially dating!" Those words struck me, I don't know why, but my heart suddenly started to ache. "R-Really now?" She nodded happily, "He asked me to be his 'One that he can spend his life with.', and of course, I said 'Yes'." Her face was filled with red taints, she seems so happy with that guy. God, love is so unreal.

I see a man with chocolate brown hair and metallic emerald eyes, standing beside Mio. "Ritsu, this is Kawabata Naoya, my b-boyfriend." She blushed furiously. "And Naoya, this is my best/childhood friend, Tainaka Ritsu." Her boy... Excuse me, her boyfriend was the same height as me, 6'2, I grew taller than Mio from these past years 5'9. Emerald and amber eyes clashed together, "Hey, Kawabata-san." I greeted, "Hello, Tainaka-san." He waved.

"Make sure you take care of Mio, see you." I started walking away, walking away from her, I couldn't stand the sight of them, hands intertwined, caressing each other, kiss... Kissing each other... My heart felt like it got stabbed a million times by her, my hot-liquid started streaming down my face, with my bangs covering my eyes. My eyes widen open once I realized something.

I think I'm in love with my best friend.
