Forever

Hey guys! This is my first fanfic, soooo... try not to judge? I don't know. I'll stop talking.

Disclaimer: Anything you may recognize is not mine. But I wish.

It was their first life. New souls born from the clay Prometheus had crafted them from. Life was hard and crude, but they had each other to hold close. They were lovers; they were content.

Alas, mortal lives must come to an end. They were smothered by the foot of a passing titan. Such a shame...

Maybe it was the bones found thousands of years later that suggested this ancient romance. A man's shattered bones hunched over a woman's, trying to shield her from some attack. Encompassing them was a giant crater, curiously resembling a foot print.

Their second lives started in Ancient Greece, specifically Athens. Two young children were batting an apple back and forth, laughing when it was thrown too far into the goat pens. They ran off to find something else to play with, not understanding what they had done.

Years later, a similar scene unfolded. The boy, now a man, tossed an apple towards his beloved. The girl, now a beautiful, young woman, caught it and stared at him in shock. She glanced at the red fruit before laughing and running towards him. He laughed with her and spun her around in a circle.

They were happily married a month later, enjoying the prosperity of their lives. Eventually, they died side-by-side, eyes peacefully closed.

The third rebirth happened when scaled, reptilian monsters freely roamed the land. Knights were specially trained in warding off these evil creatures; sometimes even containing them for studies.

They were both knights in training. She, trained at the tender age of seven. He, arriving later at twelve years. Both graduated at sixteen, venturing into the world as partners. They slew the beasts even if they spit acid or breathed fire, which lead them to be celebrated heroes. Later on, they retired and settled into a less catastrophic lifestyle. Their children and eventual grandchildren always begged them to recount the details of their glory days.

He was a traitor, smuggling information to the other side. She was an outcast, disowned by her own father. They met and fell in love, each trusting the other with their deepest secrets.

That was until the girl's father wanted her back, sending soldiers to find her. The soldiers eventually found her, but also found all the stolen knowledge. They were sentenced to an execution the next day.

We finally come to today's story about two twenty three year olds living in New Rome, already graduated from college. She's a daughter of Athena and he's a son of Poseidon. They were supposed to be rivals, but it didn't work out. They became friends instead. Then best friends, eventually boyfriend and girlfriend. That wasn't the end either. They're fiances now, after all the knife-stabbing, searching the world, and fighting for each other.

They are Percy and Annabeth. Lovers, friends, and soulmates. These are their forevers.
