Just Breathe and Need.
Her boots echoed as they hit the corridor as she swiftly walked through the Emergency department doors.
This was not how her day was meant to finish.
She reaches reception out of breath, and asks the nurse where Spencer Reid was. She had been contacted not long ago to have been told there was an accident, he had been shot and was being rushed to hospital.
The nurse guided her to a small waiting area with what she presumes is the rest of his team, all waiting for news from the Trauma Surgeon.
She doesn't talk to them, intimidated by the mood they set, but sits near them, alternating between hope and prayer.
Eventually the Doctor comes out and announces that he's alright and in recovery. He'll need to take it easy for awhile and start physical therapy, but he's no longer in danger.
Everyone gives a sigh and you visibly see their shoulders drop from the relief in tension.
She grows light headed and feels her heart turn over before starting to thump, thump again. Coming back to hear the younger male, Special Agent… ah Morgan she thinks, asking if they can go in and see him.
The Doctor apologises, but before she can hear the rest she drifts out again, still caught in the haze of relief.
"Miss… Miss" and a slight pressure on her shoulder has her back to reality and looking up at the Doctor while the team examine her curiously.
"He was asking for you before he went into surgery," he says slowly and kindly, not yet removing his hand, because she looked as if he did, she would fall down right on the spot. "If you would like to follow me, I'm sure he would appreciate it you being there when he woke up".
She realises what he is referring to, and gives herself a shake to wake up.
"Of course" she murmurs and starts walking with the doctor, and with every step the team watch her straighten with strength and confidence until it looks like a brisk walk.
"I'll let him know you're here for him" she says softly as she passes them and she can see the appreciation as well as the confusion in their eyes.
And as she disappears, the team settle down for a long wait again. This time though, they are distracted by the woman who just walked past them.

Now since I haven't seen the end of the episode, you'll have to forgive me for not knowing what actually happened there, or if it wasn't as serious as made out here. Otherwise think of it as an alternative ending.
