Pillow Fight

Karone sat on the bed in her new room, hugging her knees to her chest. It was so quiet here. On the Dark Fortress there was always some kind of background noise. But the Megaship walls were soundproof.

She jumped as a knock came at the door. She sighed, shaking her head and swinging her legs over the side of the bed, "Come in."

Andros cautiously poked his head in, "Hi."

"Hi," she echoed. She looked away quickly. she still didn't know exactly what had happened, but she had a pretty good idea.

"I... thought I'd bring you another pillow," he told her, holding up a gray pillow.

Karone giggled at that.

"What?"

"You're the third one tonight. Zhane and Ashley also brought me extra pillows, and a blanket."

"I should have thought of that," Andros said, completely missing the point. "Are you cold? I can get you-"

"Andros," she stopped him, smiling. "I'm ok."

Andros sighed, "Right." Andros made no move to leave, neither of them said anything for a minute. "Do you want some company?" Andros asked finally.

Karone looked up, smiling, "I'd like that."

Andros returned her smile, going to sit down next to her. They sat together in silence for a moment, neither of them knowing what to say.

"Why pillows?" Karone asked suddenly, picking up one of the pillows. Andros guessed it had been the one Ashley had brought her since it was purple.

"I know these beds aren't to comfortable, and probably not what you're used to," Andros started.

Karone smiled, "And a pillow's supposed to make it better?"

"I-"Andros started to apologize, but Karone swatted him lightly with the pillow to show that she was joking.

Andros relaxed, smiling. He swatted her back with the pillow he'd been holding. "Hey!" Karone protested. She whacked him harder with the pillow. Andros tried to return the favor, but she blocked his swing with her own pillow and hit him again before he had the chance to respond.

"Ok," Andros said, almost laughing, "I know when to quit."

"Since when?" Karone smirked. This time, Andros did laugh.

They sat in silence for another few moments. "Karone?" Andros asked finally.

"Yeah?"

"I'm really glad you're here."

Karone smiled back, "Me too."
