Kyoya sat in the back of music room #3, silently watching the natural. (a.k.a Haruhi) He thought to himself for just a moment what it would be like to join her and Tamaki.

"DADDY LOVES YOU SOOOOOO MUCH HARUHI, COME HERE!" He yelled as gave Haruhi a rib-crushing hug. "TAMAKI-SENPAI, LET GO. YOU'RE CRUSHING ME!" She yelled, and Mori came to the rescue as usual. Kyoya quickly fell out of his daze as Huni came over and offered him some cake. He politely declined and went back to monitoring his stocks and the host club's budget. He had made so much money from Haruhi's notebook last week, he was tempted to steal another for this weeks auction. He quickly disregarded the idea, thinking about how he would have to plan how to take another.

The hour passed an Kyoya had guests to entertain. He was polite and respectful to the ladies, as he did not want to loose his guests...after all, he needed their money. He gave a slight chuckle as he pushed his thoughts away and opened his laptop again.

He soon came over another topic of interest in his mind. He had heard of his interesting nickname, "the shadow king". He wasn't quite fond of it, but he didn't hate it either; it was an apt. description of himself he thought. What an intriguing notion...the shadow king. He quietly thought about how that name came to be. He was rather quiet, and cunningly planned everything so that it would twist in his favor. "Kyoya, are you alright? you have been rather quiet, what's on your mind?" Haruhi quietly said as she sipped her tea across from him. "I wasn't thinking about much," he closed his laptop.

"You should come and eat some cake with me!" Huni-senpai called from across the room. "You should come over to help me study tomorrow." Haruhi chirped. Kyoya was rather surprised by this comment, as nobody was ever invited to her house. She always liked to be on her own at home, he thought. "Are you alright Haruhi? You've never been one to invite the host club to your house." He replied with a surprised face. "I need help on math, the stupid books are messing with my head...I've been studying the same page for a couple days, and you are the smartest one in the host club." she sighed. " I had no choice but to ask." she sighed. He calmly replied, " I would love to Haruhi, what time shall I be at your residence?"

"Around seven'o clock, is that alright?"

"That should do," he said as he tucked his laptop in a black bag.

The host club soon ended and everybody left for home, Haruhi was settling on the couch with a cup of tea as the doorbell rang. She opened the door and ushered him in and offered him tea. He politely accepted the tea and they began studying. He looked at her and realized how pretty she was, her eyes were large and when she blinked, her lashes grazed her cheek. He quickly shook away the thought. He should ask her to have lunch with him, no, he wouldn't, he couldn't. He wouldn't bring her into the world of riches, as her saw how satisfied she was with her life. He couldn't bring her into his twisted and dark mind, he couldn't bring her into his loneliness.

He left her home that night, thinking about her. He couldn't harm her like that, bringing her into his home. Someone like her didn't deserve someone like him. His next thought made him realize something, his nickname, the shadow king, fit him perfectly. Staying in the shadows, twisting everyone to his gain, without being physically involved. The dark night grew darker, as the full moon allowed him to stay in the shadows, where he belonged.
