I do not own Forbidden Dance.
Aya smiled as she walked towards Cool's studio. Valentines Day was a few days away and she was going to give Akira something special. It was going to be their very first Valentine's Day as a couple after all. She was going to dance for Akira Valentine's Day and show him how she'd improved. Overall she'd make him smile like he rarely did. She practiced and practiced everyday until her feet bled. She wouldn't give up. She'd give Akira the best show ever. But everything didn't go as planned.
It was two days before the show.
Aya was practicing after-hours in the studio while it was empty.
Suddenly a door creaked.
Aya's heart raced.
What if it was Akira? He'd find out!
She was relieved at first when she saw Diana enter the studio but then her relief faded.
Why was she here? Akira could get distracted by her. What if he began to love her instead?
"H-hi, Diana," Aya stuttered. "Why are you here?"
"I came in hoping to see some dancing," Diana said. "I saw the light on back here when I entered so I came to see what was going on."
Liar. Aya thought. You came to see Akira.
"Oh," Aya said, trying to conceal her anger.
"Why are you all alone, Aya?"
"I'm just getting in some late night practice."
"For what?"
"A show."
"Is it a Valentine's Day present for Akira?"
"N-no!"
"You're blushing. It's not inconspicuous."
Aya sighed.
"Yes," she finally admitted. "I want to show him how much I've improved."
"May I come and see?" Diana asked. "I would like to see after you danced the 32 fouettes for me."
"F-fine."
Aya clenched her fists.
I'll dance better than you. Aya thought.
The next day, Aya noticed it was hard to concentrate. She'd think of Diana and Akira...together.
She shook the thought from her head.
I have to dance better than Diana. She thought.
On Valentine's Day, after the scheduled show, around 7:30 p.m., she took Akira back to the stage.
Diana was already there.
"This is your Valentine's Day present, Akira," Aya said, blushing.
She got up on stage and began to dance.
She flew and twirled and jumped about graceful as a swan but every time she saw Diana's face she felt dizzy.
When Akira went to sit down--next to Diana--she fell down towards the floor.
Akira saw her falling, jumped up and caught her breaking her fall.
"Akira!" she breathed.
"Aya, you baka!" he yelled. "You could've really gotten hurt."
"I-I just--I mean--"
Akira got up.
"Diana," he said. "Could you leave for a moment?"
"Sure," Diana replied.
She walked out the theatre.
Akira turned to Aya.
"Okay," Akira said. "What's up?"
"I didn't want Diana to take you!" Aya blurted.
Tears fell from her eyes.
"What if she takes you?!" Aya yelled. "What if--What if you like her more?!"
Akira kneeled beside Aya.
"Aya," he said, stroking her head. "I'd never let anyone get between us. You are the one I love. I'm not some insensitive player."
"For real?" Aya questioned.
"For real."
He smiled--as she'd been wanting all night--and kissed her sweetly.
"So," Aya said, once he released her. "You do have a sensitive side."
"Shut up," Akira said blushing.
That was Akira for you.
Her Akira.
A/N: Thanks for reading! :D
Baka means "idiot" or "stupid."
The reason Akira didn't give Aya a present is because, in Japan, girls give boys a present on Valentine's Day and then boys give presents to girls on White Day.
Oh, by the way, Diana was not trying to get between Akira and Aya. She respects their relationship. Aya was just being paranoid. XD
