Summary: what is Rem spared L, so he was left to live. its the story that could have been so starts in the scene where l dies in volume 7. And now things are harder and L needs help. He hires a woman, but whats her secret??
A/n: this story was hard to write. i only have this prolouge written, so it will take longer to update than the others.

Prolouge
Watari fell dead as he deleted all data.
"Watari!" wailed Matsuda, but no one heard him. L only starred at the laptop as he lifted his spoon to stir his tea.
Good, now kill him, rem. Thought Light.
But Rem, who was hiding somewhere, had second thoughts. "I'm not sure about this. How is killing the old man and this Ryuzaki guy gonna help misa."
Rem held his pen above his deathnote. "No, Ryuzaki looks too innocent. I can't kill him."Rem looked down at his hand to see he was already turning to sand.
L was starting to speak as he lifted his sppon and stopped. "The shinigami Rem-san has to be the one doing this. He killed Watari!" He concluded and told the task force.
Light's eyes opened wide. No, why isn't he dead!
Light darted away and went to earch for Rem and found him a pile of sand in an empty room. "Damnit." He muttered and picked up the deathnote that laid in the pile that once was Rem.
"Rem went soft." he cursed and headed back to the others. He stuffed the deathnote in his jacket that he picked up along the way. "I'm resigning." He muttered with angry, closed eyes. Then he stomped out of the hotel after retrieving Misa.
Once Outside he held out his hand toward misa. "Give me my deathnote."
"Of course Light-kun1 misa Misa gives!" misa cheered for no reason and handed him the deathnote she unberied moments earlier.
"Welcome back to me Ryuk." Light sighed as Ryuk transferred from Misa to Light.
"Wonderful." he replied.

While in the task force headquarters, L set starring at the door. "Well, that was strange that he would just leave."
Then he sighed and drank some of his tea. I thought I was going to die, something went wrong. No wonder out Kira, Light, left us.
A/n: when i wrote this I thought it was horrible, and I still do! when when the first chapter is up the story will turn out getting a little better.
L--sigh-- light...
Misa-don't say anything to light, i know you were about to!--snuggles to light--
