An: where DID Edward get that red-coat anyway…? Just another little cute scene

Pat- clunk pat-clunk pat-clunk…

Footsteps that belonged to and owner that never quite got the meaning of being stealthy were now even louder. Not That Al could sleep anymore, but if he could, those footsteps would have woken him up every time.

"Brother?"

He stood up and looked around the empty, dusty house. Their mother's room was locked and kept that way, so he wasn't in there.

Where is he?

Pat-clunk, pat-clunk, pat-clunk pat-clunk pat-clunk pat-clunk

Alphonse followed the noise to the back room where their mom kept all the old coats and fabrics

"Ed? What are you doing?"

Edward jumped and turned with a red coat in his small hands

"Al! Don't sneak up on me. I'm just packing some things."

"You don't have enough? I didn't think you had anymore room in the trunk. Don't you have a coat in there already"

"nah. This one's better"

It was a long red coat that looked almost too big for him

"You sure you won't trip over it?"

"Yes! I'm sure!"

"It just looks a lit-….kinda big for you"

"I'm growing! It's just right! Besides! I'll probably grow over night! You never know!"

Al stared at him then sighed

"Oh, I almost forgot. Here."

He handed the coat to Alphonse and grabbed some black fabric… then went into Trisha's sewing things.

"You can sew?"

"Uh…. Well, never too late to try right? I'll take that coat now, thank you!"

And with that, he walked off to their bedroom.

The following morning, Edward showed off his handy-work. To Al's surprise, it didn't suck. This was impressive since Edward usually ran off and made Al do things like this. Or just didn't pay enough attention.

"Wow…. You can sew."

"If anyone asks, we got it from Teacher."

"So, why this symbol?"

"It's from Teacher."

"I mean the snake and cross"

"I know. It's the symbol for an alchemist. That way, everyone will know I'm an alchemist. I was thinking, 'Super-alchemist' what do you think?"

"…what?"

Edward slipped the coat on. As Al thought, it was "roomy" on him.

"It looks like a super-hero cape!"

"…and..?"

"So think of something with me. I was thinking either "Super-Alchemist" or maybe "mega-alchemist" or…Al?"

Alphonse left laughing.

"Hey! I was serious!"

That only made him laugh harder

"Maybe we can keep some of the gas and write "E.E" in fire!"
