Peridot stood outside, the cold, fall wind blowing in her face. She was in a grassy field that had no trees, except for a maple tree, a few oak trees, and a couple saplings. She already wasn't feeling well; the cold temperature wasn't helping. She shivered. Amethyst was late. Again.

She leaned against the old maple tree. Two of the crisp, cherry red leaves fell into her dark hair, and another fell into her soft, green coat and into her shirt. She sighed, trying to get it out. Eventually, she had a handful of pieces from the leaf. "Of course, she chooses the coldest day to be over half an hour late.." Peridot murmured to herself.

The black-haired girl exhaled. Her breath could be seen in the icy air. She didn't want to be outside any longer. Sure, the area had its advantages, such as the sweet scents of pumpkin pie, caramel apples, and apple cider from the bake sale nearby, but it was too cold for her. Peridot walked towards the sidewalk. She headed in the direction of Amethyst's house. Before continuing her walk, she stopped by the bake sale. She only had $5 with her, it would be just enough to get herself something. She sighed in content, letting the warm scent of her food fill her nose.

The walk to Amethyst's house didn't take long. It was only about ten, eleven, maybe twelve minutes. Just before getting to the door, she saw that not a single leaf was on Amethyst's lawn. "Who'd expect her to pick up leaves..?" She murmured. She knocked on the door, the sound echoing. Her fierceness came from standing outside in the cold for half an hour. "Amethyst, I know you're here! Why didn't you come to the field? Why didn't you come to our date? The date that YOU planned! What is it? Did something happen? Or do you not care about me?" She called out.

As soon as the door was opened, Peridot felt leaves hit her. She fell back, falling into… more leaves. An amount of leaves that would fill Amethyst's yard. "Why exactly was this necessary?"

Amethyst smiled at her girlfriend. "Because you're fun to throw leaves at."

"I waited for SO LONG, it was COLD, I thought that you didn't care about me, or even worse, that something could've happened to you and you couldn't tell me, and- and you just-" Peridot was cut off as Amethyst kissed her. Afterwards, she said, "That's not gonna make me stay quiet."

"Yeah, but it makes you stop complaining." Amethyst smirked. After more kissing, Amethyst said, "So… date for real next weekend?"

"Ok. And NO leaves."
