Needing More Time
I felt so tired & weak after landing to the ground. My scales scraped & my blood dripping. "Hiccup", a voice called out for my human. "Hiccup! ...Son!"
A big figure slowly came into view & came running towards us. The human looked around for my Hiccup, only to find out he was nowhere to be seen. That's when I've figured that this must be Hiccup's father. I weakly opened my wings to reveal Hiccup to the giant human in front of me.
His eyes widened at the sight of Hiccup & immediately grabbed him. He placed his left ear on Hiccup's chest for a heartbeat…
There was no pulse.
"He's gone," he murmured. My eyes narrowed to slits hearing him say such a lie. How dare he make such a lie? That's not true! Hiccup's alive! Immediately, I took Hiccup back into my paws & put my ear onto his chest. The big human was right… Hiccup is gone.
Why Odin? Why not take me instead of him? I made a loud, angry & sad screech to the gods in the sky for taking the human I loved & cared for away from me. If only I had saved him from that tail crash in the first place.
These past few days I have went through without eating, my ribcage was showing through my body. Hiccup's female friend tried giving me some Atlantic cod, but I denied it. Along with denying my life. Then, I died with only one thought.
I'm coming, my Hiccup…
