Luke smiled at his sister as she pushed through the crowd of people when she got off the train. Her old Vans were scuffed on the sides and making a lot of noise as she approached him, her happiness evident on her face. One of her headphones was in her right ear, the other one bouncing around, much like her high ponytail. He stood a little bit off the pole before waving. The small girl grinned and ran towards her brother.
"Luke!" she shouted, hugging his tall figure. He chuckled and ruffled her hair a little until she pushed him away. "Hey! I spent 20 minutes on a bumpy train to fix this thing!"
"Laine, why do you care so much for that mop?" He asked, taking one of her bags and leading her towards the doors of Grand Central station. She hurried towards the door of his car which was parked right in front of it.
"The same reason you spend so much time doing your hair." She replied, stacking the three bags in the trunk of the GTO. He looked at her in mock innocence and slightly offense. "Oh don't give me that look. You know you spend tons of time trying to get it all spiky. It doesn't just get that gelled without lots of time and effort." Giggling, she sat down in the passenger seat, waiting for him to start the car.
Luke shook his head and drove off towards The Vault. Laine's eyes closed and the content look on her face told him she didn't get any sleep on the train, meaning she was going to need coffee. Stat. Laine doesn't sleep. When she does, it's usually after a long night of drinking and partying. Even then, it was no longer than 4 hours. After 15 minutes, they finally reached The Vault.
Laine's eyes shot open as she looked around the familiar grounds, feeling a sense of happiness shoot through her. The 18-year-old shot out of the car like a race car, her short, slender legs carrying her to the big doors of The Warehouse. Luke had to put his hand on her small head to stop her from bouncing off the walls. The elevator stopped and Luke stepped out first, Laine hiding behind him.
"Guess what I've got behind my back?" Luke shouted towards the group of dancers.
