Narrator POV
"Hey dad, I'm going for a walk", Jacob yelled as he ran out the door.
"Ok, I'll be at the elder meeting tonight, see you tomorrow", Billy yelled back before Jacob slammed the door behind him. Jacob walked up to the woods behind his house, paused for a moment and entered the lush forest, his long black hair trailing behind him.
Little did Jacob know that his life would soon change forever.
He was walking for about an hour now, and he was in the middle of the woods. He felt this warm feeling building up inside of him. The warmth slowly started to spread through his entire body, from his core all the way out to his fingers and toes.
Suddenly, he exploded into a huge russet beast his clothes shredding into tiny pieces, floating to the ground lightly. The warmth within Jacob stopped and he stood in the middle of the forest, alone.
Freaking out, Jacob started to run in circles.
Oh my God, this can't be happening! What is going on? I'm so confused! Help, help, HELP! He shouted over and over again in his head and out his muzzle, making a whining sound.
Meanwhile, at the meeting
All of the elders, and the entire pack were at a meeting, discussing Jacob.
"I don't know if he is ever going to phase", Billy sighed, "he just isn't showing the signs".
The whole group sat around a large wooden table through the entire night questioning whether Jacob would phase or not.
After 12 hours of discussion, the group decided to break and the pack went to phase. Sam, phasing first, heard Oh my God! Please help me!
Jacob, is that you?
Oh my God, now I'm hearing voices! This can't be happening!
What's going on Sam? (Embry)
Help! (Jacob)
Jacob phased. (Sam)
I, what? (Jacob)
Jacob, this is Sam. How long have you been like that?
!2 hours. (Jacob)
Jeez. Guys we have to find Jacob. (Sam)
'K Sam. (Embry)
We'll phase back. We really won't be of any help. (Jared speaking for Paul and himself)
Good. Embry, help me find Jacob. (Sam)
Ok. (Embry)
The two wolves start to run through the woods in search of a now werewolf Jacob. They find him, still running around in circles; Sam and Embry walk through the brush, scaring Jacob, who runs deeper into the woods.
Jacob, stop. Sam commands in his Alpha voice. Jacob won't stop defying the Alpha's command. Running, still faster, Jacob bolts quicker than any wolf before into the murky forest.
After three hours of trail Jacob, Sam and Embry find him passed out from excretion, still in wolf form on the ground below an elm tree. Nudging him awake, they corner Jacob, so he can't escape.
Jacob, phase back. Think of yourself in your human form.
Immediately, Jacob is back in his human form, cowering from the two large werewolves in front of him. They change back, donning shorts from the cord on their leg, sitting down next to Jacob.
They sit there for another three hours explaining everything about life as a werewolf, as Jacob's pupils grow larger and larger. Fishing out a pair of shorts hidden in a bush Sam and Embry bring Jacob home to a worried Billy.
Jacob runs into his bedroom, flopping on his bed, passing out from the exhaustion and confusion of the past 18 hours.
Sam walks up to the couch in the shabby living room and sits down. Leaning to Billy's ear he whispers, "Thank God that is over".
