My mom's running errands, so I stole her laptop and am now writing a one shot thing. XD Hope you like it!

Elycia tiptoed out of her room, the bunnies on her footie pajamas moving and bending with her. She was holding a teddy bear.
"Shhhh," she whispered to her bear. She put her fingers to her lips.
It was Christmas day, and Elycia couldn't wait to see her gifts. Mommy would always hide them, but not this time! She was going to see them early. She peeked her head into the living room, and looked around. No Mommy, check! Elycia tried not to jump with excitement. It would wake Mommy up, she was a light sleeper.
Elycia checked behind the chairs, couch cushions, and under the coffee table, but she couldn't find anything for her! Then she remembered the fireplace. A green stocking had fancy lettering spelling Elycia. Jackpot! She tiptoed quickly to the stocking, and reached with all her might. She still couldn't reach it! Elycia knew that she would have to put her bear down, so she carefully put Mr. Snuffles on the carpet. Even though she put her bear down, she was still a little too short. So she jumped.
But she didn't time it well, for she slipped and knocked a little trinket down. Oh no! She heard shuffling from her mommy's room, and knew that she was awake. She had failed.
"… Elycia?" Her mommy walked out, stretching.
"Mommy! It's Christmas!" Elycia shouted. "I can't reach my stocking!"
Mommy chuckled. "Here, let me get it for you." She gingerly took it off the hanger and handed it to her daughter. Elycia yelled in glee and grabbed it, dumping out its contents. It consisted of a candy cane, a letter from Santa, an apple, and a deck of cards. She stared in awe at the items her mother had given her.
"Mommy, where are the rest of my presents?" Elycia asked. Her mother laughed and went to go get them.
Elycia was very happy with her gifts, especially the rocking horse. She put on her cowgirl hat and rode it for a bit.
"Look, Mommy!" Her mom smiled.
After a while, Elycia's attention span took the best of her. She was bored!
"Mommy, there's still one thing I want for Christmas."
"What's that, dear?"
"I want Daddy to come home!" Elycia waved her hands in the air.
Her mother put a sad smile on. "Daddy's on a long trip, dear. He can't come home yet."
"But Mommy, he has to get done, right? And I'm going to wait for him the whole time!" Elycia crossed her arms and sat instantly, trying to prove her point.
Her mother laughed. "Of course, do what you want, dear."
Very short, but I felt this needed to be written. XD My friend gave me the idea when she said this would be sad if it happened. You can see her as MaiInTheClouds!
