Bullets swept away the foundation of my life
Those tiny pieces of metal confronted me with something I had never felt before. Someone could hold a gun to my face, and all there would be are drops of sweat on my face, but the bullet that hit you, ripped out my heart and left me terrified. I always thought the love between a man and a woman is the strongest kind of love there is. Now I know that's not always true. The friendship between two partners, two cops can be as strong, even more so as they protect each other with their lives every day. Ours was..is like that.
Bullets swept away my self-confidence, leaving nothing but doubts, and questions. What if? What if you had died? Could I really go it alone? Would there be a "me" without you?
Bullets almost killed you. My partner, my best friend. Bullets almost made me the loneliest man in the world.
What are we supposed to do when we are the targets?
