Kitty's First Christmas

Chapter One: Kasai

I head up to Makoto's office, pretty sure that my nephew won't have his apartment decorated for Christmas. Hell. . . he probably hasn't even told the boy what Christmas is. I ring the bell, smiling at Toki-boy as he pulls the door open. He grins back at me, that grin he reserves for me, happy, yet hiding something. A mistrust, I think it is. . . He glances down at my left hand, where the scars from when he attacked me are standing out, red against my pale skin, a frown creasing his face. I ignore it, greeting him happily. "Heyo Toki-boy."

"Hi Kasai-san." He replies softly, stepping back from the doorway.

I walk in, slipping my shoes off, looking around. It's as I thought, no decorations. "Makoto, this is sad. You haven't taught Toki-boy about Christmas?"

"Nope. I thought that you could teach him about that." Makoto replies from the couch, where he is leaning back, the ever present cigarette hanging from his lips.

"Great. So I get to teach the little cat about Christmas."

"Yup."

"HEY!" Toki-boy yells, stepping forward. "Don't talk about me like I'm not here! And I'm not a cat! Idiots."

I reach out for his head, but he ducks away, pulling back to Makoto's side. Makoto smiles, ruffles Toki-boy's hair. "Well anyway, we should go out so I can show him the decorations."

"Decorations?" Toki-boy asks, looking over at me.

"Come on. I'll show you." I walk back for the doorway, looking back at Toki-boy, who is still standing beside Makoto. "Well?"

"Only if Kubo-chan comes."

"Makoto?"

"Hai, hai. I'll come." He stands slowly, stretching. "Go get dressed, Tokito."

"I am dressed."

"You'll freeze to death dressed like that." Makoto motions at Toki-boy's outfit, loose sweat pants and a baggy sweatshirt. I notice that he is missing his glove, his right hand revealed, the soft carmel colored fur glistening softly in the light. Toki-boy glowers at Makoto, but walks into the room the share.

"You two seem to be getting along."

"Yeah. He's getting used to living here." Makoto looks over as Toki-boy comes out of the room, dressed in loose jeans and the same sweatshirt, but he has a coat over his shirt now. His right hand is cloaked in its typical black leather glove, hidden from me.

"Come on, Kubo-chan." Toki-boy says, heading to the door, pulling on heavy boots.

"You need a scarf and gloves." Makoto holds out the objects, which Toki-boy frowns at.

"Why?"

"Because it's snowing outside."

"So?"

"Do you want to freeze to death?"

"You can't freeze to death. . . can you?"

"I don't know. Ask him." Makoto shrugs, pointing at me.

Toki-boy looks over at me, frowning. I smile, shaking my head slightly. "Yeah. You can. I've seen it."

"Fine." Toki-boy frowns, taking the scarf and gloves and pulling them on.

I smile as Makoto adjusts the scarf, then pulls a hat down on Toki-boy's head, making him growl softly. "Come on you two, let's go teach Toki-boy about what Christmas is."

A/N: Well? What do ya'll think?

It's hard to get the right character. . . but I hope I've gotten Kasai. If you don't think so, please let me know how to fix it! ^_^

I'm new to WA, so . .. . yeah. . . I'm still a bit dumb about the characters. Forgive DHS!
