Ok soo this is my first songfic I just started writing this in Reading class cuz I was reallllly bored (trust me outlines aren't really that interesting) so ummm… enjoy R n R if you're just cool like that oh! And I don't own soul eater or The Only Exception (: yeah
When I was younger I saw my daddy cry and curse at the wind
"Dammit," he said quietly, wiping the tears he was trying to hide from his eyes. I knew the two syllables should've only been heard by his ears, but that was not the case. The wind whipped the rain around and it blew in my hair and eyes.
"Daddy?" I asked as I watched Mom pull away in her bright red car. "Can we go inside now please?"
"Hell no."
"Then I am. You can stay outside here in the rain, don't get sick," I warned.
"Fine then."
He broke his own heart and I watched as he tried to reassemble it.
For the next few months, I watched my Father's condition worsen. He barely spoke, couldn't hold a job, and continuously smoke and drank. My Mother came to take me to live with her that December.
My Mama swore that she would never let herself forget
I had lived with my mother for the next 6 years after that December. I'm sure my Father was still drinking himself into oblivion. One day my Mother said something to me that had made my mind up about love.
"I'll never forget your father but, I have to move on."
It dawned on me she hadn't gotten over him until now.
That was the day that I promised I'd never sing of love if it does not exist
But darlin'
You are the only exception
You are the only exception
You are the only exception
You are the only exception
Maybe I know somewhere deep in my soul that love never lasts
I always scoffed at people having relationships. Sure I've liked guys, but I've never gone as far as to have a boyfriend.
And we've got to find other ways to make it alone or keep a straight face
It wasn't just my friends who noticed I never smiled, laughed, or cried. My tears had dried up long before and my last smile had faded years ago.
And I've always lived like this, keeping a comfortable distance
I'd always find myself avoiding that boy, the one with the white hair and blood red eyes. I didn't know why. Imean, I had never shared a single word with him before.
And up until now I had sworn to myself that I'm content with loneliness
'Cuz none of it was worth the risk
I think it was when Black*Star and Tsubaki first got together. That's when I first realized the truth. I had always been wrong. It was wrong not to love. I quickly ran to the bathroom and shed the first tear that had left my green eyes in years.
You are the only exception
You are the only exception
You are the only exception
You are the only exception
I've got a tight grip on reality but I can't let go of what's in front of me here
I know you're leaving in the morning when you wake up
Leave me some kind of proof it's not a dream
He stood in front of me in the hallway. I couldn't peel my eyes from him. He was on my mind 24/7 after that.
You are the only exception
You are the only exception
You are the only exception
You are the only exception
You are the only exception
You are the only exception
You are the only exception
You are the only exception
You are the only exception
Oh and I'm on my way to believein'
I'm on my way to believein'
"Would it kill you to crack a smile?" The boy turned around and asked me one day.
"What?" I asked, the corners of my mouth pulled up into a smile.
"There, you look much prettier like that you know," he remarked, turning back around.
"You're friends with Soul-kun?" Tsubaki asked.
Soul? So that was his name. Maka and Soul…Hmm…
So didja like it?
