A Deep, Dark Hole

I haven't watched the movie, but I was interested in the book. It was well written, and I hope that this poem lives up to its standards. Please review. This is set sometime between Suzie going back to heaven, and Harvey being killed.

A Deep, Dark Hole

I don't know you

You don't know me

We are anonymous

It's all we'll ever be

If I would ever meet you

I'm sure it wouldn't be fun

I'd be long gone

But I wouldn't be done

Still, with my protest

My screams, my cries

You haven't changed your mind

I'm still bound with numerous ties

In my perfect world

Where I have been

It would never hide

All of your own sins

And you know that

It's why you run, why you hide

Because you will never flee

Behind your desperate lies

And even though

We were well known then

I know that time always moves on

And finally when

We have gone, there are others

Falling down a deep, dark hole

Just like I had.

Just like you are.

Just like everyone will.
