Perhaps this style of writing is garbage, but it's all that I can muster right now. Also sorry for the angst on Mother's Day. We put a piece of ourselves into everything we write I suppose.
6 Years after the Battle of Yavin…
New Alderaan System
Leia Organa.
Queen of New Alderaan.
Senator of the New Republic.
Mother of Ben Bail Organa.
Was this what her father had felt when he looked upon her?
Were these the same thoughts and emotions that flowed through the mind of her mother when she looked upon her child?
She wished so desperately that she knew, but she never would. She could only have hope.
She took solace in the fact that she felt warm when she held little Ben in her arms, that her spirits soared when she saw him smile, that she laughed when he did.
But she could not soothe his cries, not to the same extent his father did, not even to the extent that his uncle did. Even though he had only visited thrice, his connection to Ben seemed to dwarf the connection to either parent.
"His destiny is cloudy, but perhaps greater even then mine," his uncle had said.
A destiny greater than the man who made apologies for a mass murderer and Imperial dog? She could only hope.
Yet when she looked upon her sleeping child, she too could sense something.
Perhaps it was nothing. This child was her heir, the only remaining child in the line of the Royal House of Alderaan. He could be nothing more, surely.
Perhaps the dreams that she had of dancing blades of light were nothing. The dreams of black masks and blood-red blades were merely distorted memories, surely. The dreams of a brown haired man facing an old woman in rags with nothing but a familiar blue blade gripped in silver hands was a figment of her fevered dreams. She could only hope.
AN: There's been a lot going on in my life recently. I'm seeing a therapist soon, hopefully that should help sort out my head and life. To tide you over until I have better conditions to type more, I made this. It's an unplanned Mother's Day oneshot and one of the many stories set in this new Saga.
I didn't want to make this too plot heavy, but I wanted to hint at some things and get at least some things set in stone so that I have something to start on, much like a seed crystal, if you will.
