The blazing crimson sun sank lower into the bloody horizon, casting shadows through the dusty rock ridges of Perion, hiding a small shack deep within its shade. Screams of pain, unheard by man or monster alike in the dangerous terrain, echoed through the valleys. A small shadow burst out of the door, crying, and ran off through the mountains, following the setting sun, tears flowing down his face, watering the tiny flowers on the plains.
A little boy ran through the town of Perion, throwing a dust cloud up in his wake. Knocking on a wooden post next to a large tent, the boy ran inside to witness Sitting Bull sitting on a rocky throne. The leader of the warriors looked up, and saw a pair of light green eyes with chocolate brown strands of hair covering a young boy's fair skinned forehead. The boy was sinewy and agile, with pale skin and holding a shortsword.
"Ahhh… Kenth Draconis, it is you. You come to seek guidance on the path of the Warrior?" boomed the ancient warrior
"Y-y-yyes uh… Sitting Bull." stammered the young boy, nervously shifting from one foot to another.
"Very well. Kneel in the circle and relax" said Sitting Bull, bending down to lift away a square slab of stone on the floor, revealing a circle made of intricately combined lines of pulsing red, white and blue. The boy eyed the circle warily, then knelt. The leader or the warriors placed a strong, muscled hand on the boy's forehead, chanting in a deep voice.
Kenth screamed as an icy fire erupted inside of him, feeling as though as he was being burned and freezing at the same time as the blood pulsed through his veins. The pain slowly receded, he felt a new power within him, he felt stronger…more…powerful.
Sitting Bull eyed the boy before him, then turned and walked back to his throne; dismissing the boy with a backward wave of his hand.
A legendary warrior had been made.
